I'm glad Sheik and Toon Link seem to be turning into a more common one, apparently. Can't say I'm surprised Shulk and Ike are still impossible, even in prerelease in most stores. Really hope GS doesn't keep us waiting long for their shipments.

I wonder if Nintendo feels the 2DS didn't have enough of a relevant market penetration to validate its further existence, so much that they feel re-manufacturing the standard 3DS would be more profitable. Could also mean they want to refocus on the appeal of 3D gaming, especially given the better function available in the N3DSXL.

For the amount of money it would cost to restock/manufacture the older model, I would think it'd be wiser to simply release the non XL New 3DS. Odd.

I thought the going conspiracy theory was that Nintendo made the 2DS since they lost a patent lawsuit and owed a company $3 for every 3DS sold because of the 3D effect.

I may be a bit liberal with some speculation there- assuming all Smash fighters get one including Mewtwo. Could've also added a potential 3 more (ROB color variant, the other Mii Fighters). The Super Mario line I simply went by who is playable in Mario Party 10 in the "Status ?" line.

These are without taxes, in USD, no shipping, no importing, no buying from scalpers. All of those things would raise your personal costs. It also doesn't take into affect any sales you come across, which would decrease the total.

On my end, still waiting to hear from GS at this point. All I've gotten is Bowser.

No Ike, Shulk, Mega Man, or Meta Knight, though I have seen them around in other stores. Yeh, I feel pretty grateful that scalping hasn't really taken off here yet. There's a few on our local auction site for large amounts of cash but nobody is really buying them.

They are pretty damn expensive here though (nearly $20 USD). I think if they were cheaper they'd be flying off the shelves a bit more. My wallet is already cry from buying the whole set but I much prefer that to the situation in NA.

I think some have speculated that megaman may end up being common or at least uncommon, but attainable at a later date? If megaman ends up being replenished in a few weeks and we know Meta Knight definitely will not, you may want to hold off trading for a week or two to see what happens with stock.
