Amiibo Thread 3 | Where release dates are made up and preorders don't matter!

You are quite the optimist, aren't you?
Normally Im a pessimist. But so far i havent had trouble getting a single amiibo. Didnt even pay retail on a single one. Discounts of some sort on every one.

Im just saying tho, if it gets delayed, I see no reason it wont be over produced.

Toon Link from amazon still hasn't shipped or started preparing to ship...but it now has an estimated delivery between Monday, February 16, 2015 - Friday, February 20, 2015!

So happy! One of my all time favorite characters, main from Brawl and still mostly main in 4. Can't wait! I feel better about preordering future Waves from amazon now.

NA AmiiboGAF,
I think we should come up with a guessing game for Wave 4 NA preorder date. Just for the fun of it. The winner can be NA King or Queen Amiibo and wear an Amiibo crown on their avatar. Could do it on a board (use excel) and have all dates in Feb and March available. The winning date would be when either BB, Amazon, or Gamestop start taking NA Wave 4 orders live. Everyone gets one guess and you cant take a date that someone else has. It can be on a shared doc or something. Maybe we could do a Amiibo giveaway or something to make it fun. Would this be of interest? I could do it through PMs and occasionally post the updated board that way it does not spam the thread. Just thought it might be fun since there is not much going on. Comments or ideas? If it is dumb I am also willing to wear an Amiibo dunce cap ha

March 13 is my guess, I feel like we will see them released around May.

This isn't the typical experience for everyone, and especially anyone trying to collect them all. Wave 4 is especially worrying to me because it consist of mostly more obscure characters, of whom Nintendo LOVES to under produce (Ness will be the worst one yet, I guarantee it). I hope you are right, of course, but I just don't see it happening.

Either you don't live in the US, or your luck is 1 in a million.

At an FYE. They only got enough Sonic, Dedede and Mega Man for preorders. Nothing extra. An employee here said that all of the chain's allocation of the new Amiibos was taken up by scalpers who preordered without limits so they had no extra to put on shelves.

Great

Yay Lucario FINALLY made it to my town!!!

Arrived at local Post Office - Allow one to two additional days for delivery

....OH COME ON FEDEX!!!!!

U.S. Postal Service will be delivering this shipment.

They brought it all the way here just to get USPS to do it?!

Where in the US are you? I have Mega Man and Dedede preordered at one, haven't heard anything from them yet

Yeah, that's the worst. USPS is pretty incompetent around my area, so whenever I get a shipment that's coming via UPS SurePost or FedEx SmartPost, I always get a little disappointed.

It's always the other way around though with USPS being MUCH reliable then UPS/FedEx.

Actually, USPS just came early now. *opens box*

Oh finally... he's here... I can breathe easy now... Except for my package from Japan that's several days late... Still worried on that one, especially with the issues I've had with it already -_-

I haven't had any problems either. Pit was kind of difficult to track down but, otherwise, no issues for me. I, however, decided before they even came out that I was going to collect every one, so I had the full Wave 1 pre-ordered far in advance. I'm in US.

Seriously. I guess "trouble" is subjective as well but I count having to wait in line at Target before opening just to get an amiibo, as "trouble". I have yet to see Pit or Captain Falcon in a store. Same goes for Sheik. And unless you preordered you aren't likely to be getting Shulk or Metaknight unless you wait in lines before they open.

Guys, which version of Dedede is the rarest? I have both the American and Japanese Dedede, but I'm trying to decide which one I should open.

Always open the Japanese versions. Always assume there will be shortages in NA. Even months later Japanese and European retailers come into stock of Marth and WFT.

It seems that it's either/or for most people. :P

Congrats on getting Lucario.

Thanks :) And yeah, I see A LOT of people on here that hate USPS, but YMMV I suppose. I haven't really had an issue yet (except when they get like substitute drivers that come at 5PM for whatever reason). They don't seem to kick around the boxes either :p

Maybe it's because I'm out by the border of town/the country with few neighbors, but USPS tends to be fine when they deliver packages to me.

Northeast Ohio. If you have preorders at a store, you should call that store today. It may have them. FYE was supposed to get Sonic, Dedede and Mega Man today.

I live in TX. No luck. I just preordered. Simple as that. Every preorder window so far has been wide enough for me to preorder with ease.

Lucario and Rosalina were the only two I had preorder issues with. My lucario preorder was cancelled and reinstated. Rosalina i picked up on release date, my store had enough and didnt sell out until that afternoon.

I agree with the sentiment. But I didnt dilly dally with the preorders, I ordered as soon as i heard. Im hoping NoA is waiting to release numbers to stores because they want to offer bigger numbers.

Worst case, no numbers are given ever and stores just get product in sporadically with no schedule or preorders.

I have a US Mega Man preordered at Gamestop, but I sure do want a Japanese one to leave in the package just because it will say Rockman instead of MM. The other name variants (like Toad/Kinopio) don't interest me at all, but this one does. Once I start buying variants, I think I have gone too far though.

I... suddenly... want to buy a Japanese Mega Man amiibo... NOOO MUST RESIST! I need coffee.

My Mega Man finally has a delivery date from Amazon US. The nightmare is over. The Shulk / Ike / King Dedede / Wave 4 / every other Amiibo nightmare continues.

i remember when little mac came out i had a chance to get one on amazon. I kind of regret not buying it now. ah well, at least i was able to get a cap'n. Pit tho, I've never seen him available anywhere.

Went into a TRU this Sat and couldn't believe it when I saw a lone Sheik there! I already have her but I picked her up for a buddy of mine. Gave him a Rosalina and Sheik on Sunday, he was super stoked!

At the same time, while it may be a bit more difficult to find Amiibos at retail in the US than in Europe, it's insanely dificult to find deals on Amiibos in Europe, I think. At least, I haven't seen a single one around here (the 2 for 20, 3 for 30 and so on... I've bought most Amiibos *over* the MRSP of 12.99€, nearly all shops now sell them for ~14.99€)

So I still feel fairly new to the Nintendo ecosystem (at least since the N64 days).

What Nintendo sites does everyone use for up to date Nintendo news. Stuff like games, amiibo, preorder deals, limited editions.

I would pay a little more if I could just get my hands on the dern things I think Canada, US, Mexico have it the worst... from all I've read....

Basically just the directs... and there own website.... I visit thetanooki occasionally...
and zeldainformer other than that its mostly direct from the horse's mouth Nintendo doesn't ever say a whole lot about anything till they're ready...

Being able to find them fairly easily at retail price is a MUCH better deal than we can find here in the states. Sure, occasionally TRU or whatever might offer a 2 for $20 deal or something like that, but it's incredibly difficult to get rare Amiibos during those sales.

Aw yeah! Mega Man and Ike coming by the 12th from Amazon. Sonic should be here tomorrow. For the fastest thing alive, Sonic sure has been slow to arrive. Even with Prime, Sheik and Toon Link arrived in one day.
