Amiibo Thread 3 | Where release dates are made up and preorders don't matter!

whoa, got a bunch of packages from TRU this morning. they shipped out most of the amiibos I ordered. glad it arrived before I left for work.
 
Got my Shulk in last night... but the paint is wonky. I have tried my hardest to get my Amiibo in person for this reason.

I am going to keep it in the package for now and make a decision on what I want to do with it (sell or open). The paint isn't that bad, it's just annoying to not have the freedom to buy these in the way that I want.

Gamestops don't give a crap about Amiibo because there is no sweet used market for them, so I think you're right.

They could totally sell me a clean, functional used villager and package it in a ziplock bag for all i care. I'd still pay 20 bucks for it.

I'd also totally use it to pick up the commons I've procrastinated on if it were cheap enough for those things to beat BB gcu purchases.

Alas, there probably aren't enough of me to make a difference as usual.

How many are going to GS at 12:01 pm? Technically counts right? I ordered 2 from different gamestop that are close to me. I can only find one email confirmation and I only got one text yday. So it will be interesting to see if I end up with both or just one. As long as I get one I will be happy. My friend will be sad for sure since I was hooking him up with the other.


Just ordered the MM messenger bag from club nintendo. Only 2-5 months for delivery ha. That's insane.

I'll probably call them not long after Noon so they can get time to open the boxes & see what they got.

I'm trying GS on my lunch break today, no preorder, my probability of success seems VERY low.
 
Why would the Mario series even be that in-demand? It's just the regular Mario cast. Nothing special at all.

If Toad was Captain Toad, different story. Heh.

Like when diddy was initially selling out, scaplers will do everything in their power to make something rare until it's proven common. LIkewise, people will panic and scramble to beat scalpers until such a time as something is proven too common.
 
Just saw two Nintendo vendors at Target. It was also the most stocked I've seen the amiibos st this store.

They were showing off the new 3ds and let me play it. I let them know about some frustrations with amiibos but they're just vendors.

They said someone offered them $200 for a little mac. They know the thirst.

$13.99 plus shipping from TRU for...I think it was Captain Falcon.
Other than that, i've either bought all of them for retail, or got them on some sort of deal.
I think the lowest was Pikachu at Gamestop because I had a $5 coupon to use up.


S-should I call my local Gamestop? I got the call for "my game" yesterday, but I'm not sure if they're actually getting in boxes. The guy yesterday had no idea about them. And I don't want to be that guy and calling them every hour to see when they'll open their boxes up.

Easiest way to find them is via the mobile site. The search for "Amiibo" just runs a search and doesn't redirect you to their Amiibo hub page

Nope, we should still be good. It seems they are early placeholders and they might have made them pre-orderable too early and then pulled the ability to order them. They all say 'coming soon' and if they were sold out, it would just say so.

I think they just got them up and running earlier than they planned.

Thanks. I've given up on waiting for Amiibo at Best Buy. I'll just order from where I can from now on. I got in on the Mario set at Amazon.

Toy Jawas don't know that. They just know "Amiibo are selling, dude!" so they're buying them all up.
 
 
Got my Ike today.
And his face is (sigh) as expected.
I don't think I've seen an Ike face I like, even Marth had the occasional winner. Oh well, at least he'll be cool to use in Codename STEAM.

Speaking of which, anyone here preorder STEAM and not want the Majoras Mask pin? PM me :]

Called mine yesterday they refused to even say there were getting any. Guy on the phone literally said " No were not getting any of the new Amiibo, completely sold out" until I said I had a preorder for them and then he said quietly ".......Friday...."

he's probably getting tons of calls about them before you called. probably had to say the same line over and over to everyone lol
