Amiibo Thread 3 | Where release dates are made up and preorders don't matter!

Just picked up my pre-ordered Shulk from Gamestop. Mine got in 10, all pre-orders. Makes you wonder what kind of money Nintendo is printing with these things.

Because the website has no way to differentiate what is and isn't a pre-order.
 
Figures after weeks of checking over and over something happens the second you take a break. >_>

Their system is really stupid on that matter. They just changed their POS system, but they should've changed their inventory system too. Each call that goes through to ask if they have this or that, is a waste of time and breath.
 
The tiny window of opportunity is crazy.

Then again, Shulk is super high-demand, as an exclusive and all.

Still, moments from someone saying "Shulk is available," that Add to Cart button disappears.

Damn...I've been checking it all day and I step away from my desk for a couple of minutes just to miss it by seconds while I was checking out.
 
What an adrenaline rush attempting to order that discreetly while being so anxious on the inside! I have now learned to keep my CC secretly hidden on my desk at work...

So now I have two Shulks on the way, one from Japan and one from this brief window of opportunity. I fully plan on trading one for a Ness or Lucina amiibo if I am unable to secure pre-orders of either, but we shall see how it goes.

And with that, once these amiibos ship, I'll have a complete collection of wave 1-3. I want to get off Mr. Iwata's wild ride. ;__;

local gamestop doesn't have their shipment in yet. told me to check back around 12pm or 1pm

that coincides with the txt they sent but was hoping for earlier. harder for me to get down there in the afternoon due to scheduling.

i mean I could just swing by tomorrow morning and get it I guess... but i'm paranoid something will go wrong and they'll sell it due to the demand or something terrible like that D:
 
Like others in the thread have mentioned, go into your local GameStop after 48 hours, and ask if there are any unclaimed Shulks. Typically, we call on that 2nd day to ask if they plan on picking up their preorder, and if they say no or we get a disconnected / unavailable number, they're free to sell.

Don't give up hope, yet!
 
Do not let amiibos change you. Some guy I know literally ended his friendship with a group of us over a Lucario. I kid you not. That is just sad.
 
FUCK. I was SO close. But then like an IDIOT I aborted the process to remove a Sheik that wound up in my cart somehow. Now I can't stop trying until the button is gone...

That's pathetic. REALLY pathetic.

I'm a bit of an introvert in person, and I'd like to make good friends with people who are into the things I'm into.
 
Less Shulk, More Sulk

Just glad I was able to order mine while I wasn't at class. Now I just hope Best Buy can pull through considering the luck I've had with Rosalina & now Shulk (which considering how I tend to get stuff from GS really fast in the mail, hoping for this week).

He was under the impression that the extra Lucario was for him. In reality and as stated in the text I sent him and then screenshoted to him later, I advised him that I would not be able to give him the extra and I would do my best to try to trade with someone here on GAF. Unfortunately for him I was not successful and that pissed him off.
 
damn missed shulk by about a minute. Called my local GS and they said to check back in a couple hours since they are still getting shipments of wave 3
