I should probably do the same with Yoshi. I've been wanting him, but been putting it off since he's been so common.
 
SSB Yoshi is going for $20 on Amazon o_O All third party sellers, but is there a reason the price for him has suddenly inflated so much when he's so common at GameStops and TRUs?

EDIT: Huh, no longer available online at GS either. Maaaaaaybe I should pick up a Yoshi this weekend.

I had a hell of a time finding him before one turned up on a lark at one of the local gamestops. Seems like some places are finally starting to get some restocks of him and Sheik, but I don't know that they're going to be as common as Bowser, personally. I see bowser everywhere I go, I've only ever seen Toon Link or Sheik in the wild once.

I think Yoshi got restocked once in Canada already. He was sparse for a while

I only have 1 reserved at GameStop but they said they're expecting some extras. There's a chance I could get one or two extras so I'll keep you in mind if I can do it. I'm planning to be there as soon as the shipment comes in.

Edit: Also snagged this cool Olimar avatar last night.

It is in store. If they don't have the cards still just have the cashier use the code here. Should work unless they cut them off. I really doubt it as they all have 100 Kirbys

Also just to make sure you all saw Wario is up for preorder on Amazon.co.uk
It is $21 USD. I debated but ended up doing it because i am nervouse about NA preorders for Wave 4.
 
Had an online pre-order of Shulk for over a month, order gets canceled right before release day. What a clusterfuck. According to several employees I should have pre-ordered in a store, wow.

Here's a thought, Gamestop: Don't fucking take online orders if you know in-store customers/scalpers are going to gobble up all your stock. Six calls to the six stores I can reach, and half an hour with customer service later, and there's not a single extra figure to be found. OK.
 
I feel like Nintendo is purposefully making this into a meta-game. Each wave has its own "boss," which is the hardest to obtain. I can only imagine the "Final Boss" for the Smash Line. Mr. Game and Watch? Duck Hunt Dog? I mean, honestly, how many of those do we expect Nintendo to print? They are probably wanting to move on from the rest of these obscure Smash amiibos entirely and sell a bunch of the Mario Party mainstays.

Is every Smash amiibo going to be hell to obtain from now on in the U.S.? Early morning lineups and 30 second pre-order windows? I'm not about to quit just yet, but if I fail this game, I will do so with my head held high.
 
Can see Mewtwo being really tough to find, who knows when they'll get around to making him though! Hopefully we get some confirmed extra dlc by then too. ;o
 
I think it may get easier as we near the end of the Smash line. I can already see people getting burnt out on Amiibo. This thread has slowed down significantly compared to a few weeks ago. There was so much hype and just overall chatter that I don't see as much of anymore.

I'd like to say Greninja will be common, but I don't think it will necessarily be the case. I could even see him being another retailer exclusive like Lucario.

Mewtwo is DLC so who the hell really knows how that will go. Could be Pikachu levels of production or extremely limited quantities. Either seems plausible with Nintendo, and I honestly don't think it will be anything in between.

Anyway, I was exaggerating. :P I'm sure there will be a few more than that that will be readily available, at least for a while.

I used to post alot in ot 1. And 2 but the hype has kind of died down. And the hunt isnt there anymore really. With online orders selling out in minutes and stores have zero new amiibo on shelves, just not much to be excited for anymore ( still going for a full boxed/open collection, it is hard work trying to deceive of each when they sell out immediately)
The thirst is real too as every new amiibo launch will have people lining up hours before stores open. The hunt is dead.

With the recent sales everywhere I suspect Peach, Yoshi, and DK are being discontinued for the SM line. If anyone wants their Smash versions they probably need to get them asap.
 
So did GS get anything beyond Bowser/Toon Link/Shulk/Shiek? My store has apparently just stopped notifying people when pre-orders come in now... >:(
 
What's the rarity like on Meta Knight, Dedede, Sheik and Lucario? Some local retailers recently got them in.

Wish they got Shulk and Mega Man.

Are you in the US? Meta Knight isn't out and he is a Best Buy exclusive. Dedede is really rare as only TRU had a few. Sheik is uncommon but not rare, the future Diddy likely.Lucario is rareish

The thread will blow up again this week with the 20th creeping and new pre orders going up hopefully soon.
