NOW, the fact that Exodus is being made in USA is the main reason why i'm not too hyped yet, says enough about the game industry there last 10-15 years, it's so hard to find a really good american game nowadays

the last time bethesda won goty was in 2011. They did not win in 2015.

None of the internal MS studios have been nominated in the last decade.

The new ones they bought like COD studios, Arkhane Studios, and Machine Games also have never gotten a nomination. ID Tech did get nominated for Doom Eternal but thats it. One single studio who released a pretty mid Doom game this year. MS simply acquired a bunch of mid tier studios and have cultivated a bunch of other mid tier studios over the last two decades.

Sony's western studios have been following suit and thats why they havent won anything in the last five years despite having multiple nominations pretty much all of those years. They got lucky with Astrobot in a very weak year but thats a Japanese game. Their western studios are only slightly bit less mid tier than MS's own mediocrity. Enough to get nominated over a sea of mediocrity releasing this gen, but not enough to win.

It's because American companies are too busy trying to convey 'messages' and using outsourcing/visas to boost profits rather than just making a good game. Hence why games made everywhere else are going to dominate American games more and more going forward.
