An embarrasing thing to admit...

The millions of children getting mario kart ds to work online are doing far better than me. I'm using a 2wire 1000HG wireless router and I've put in the WEP key but I'm still getting error 52000 which I'm told has something to do with DHCP. Can someone give me instructions that are even simpler than the Nintendo instructions?

Are you running any router specific modes? For example turbo burst / pre-n / things like that? If you don't know, its probably not. Theyre not usually factory set to do that kind of thing.

Is that code actually the error code your DS gives you? Sounds like its having a problem getting an IP.

If you go into your routers settings, DHCP has to be on. If other wireless devices can connect and be assigned their own IP without you doing it, its probably on.

Dont be ashamed kids are suppossed to be good at this stuff.

I'm starting to think it's an incompatibility issue because all my friends who bring their laptops over just put in the WEP code and they work fine. No assigning ip's or anything like that. Would you all agree?
