it should mention fast charging though. Maybe check your settings to see if fast charging is toggled on or not?

2 hours seem about right for charge time though.

you don't go to samsung for the quickest phone charging. Go chinese for those.

It only does Fast Charging when you aren't using it.

I wasn't using it, or do you mean it has to be Off?

This is V30? This hardware is gonna clash so much with their ugly ass software from 2014.

yeah they really need a dark theme, and ditch the styling from early android lol.

same with htc.

think samsung and huawei look decent. all other heavily skinned stuff looks like trash.

Yeah Samsung's is not bad as far as looks go now. They just need to get rid of all the bloat that causes lag when apps open. LG V30 might be a good buy when it gets to $400 a couple of months after release. I think I'm done with phones other than oneplus or pixel though. Stock with unlocked bootloader is just too important. I returned the HTC U11 today. The ui was just too much for me and it felt too wide with a case on.

So the OnePlus 5 has arrived, and it's OK. It's not as amazing as I'd thought it would be, a lot heavier than the Nexus 5X I was used to. I think I will actually buy a Moto X Play - if it arrives in the trial period then it'll be good to see how the two compare.
Never heard anyone complain about the weight before, it's lighter than an iPhone 7.

I've got an OP5 and it's absolutely fantastic.

Note 8 looks hot but the fragility of the S8 Plus and inability to put on a decent tempered glass screen protector has me scared.

Note 8 doesn't seem like a smart buy with Pixel XL 2 coming in 2 months unless you gotta have the s pen functionality. I'm sure Samsung will be doing bogo free deals on note 8 within 2 months though.

At six inches, the OLED FullVision display will be LG’s largest in four years while the actual body will be smaller than last year’s LG V20. As the upper and lower bezels have been reduced by 20 and 50 percent when compared to the V20

Your move Sony

Very Good
This sound like my next phone

I just hope LG stick a decent-sized battery in the V30. And swap out those camera sensors.

With that standard LG price drop, it could be a bargain by Xmas.

LG claim they've eliminated burn in too. they best not be lying

I swear, if they eliminated IR and Burn-In i might consider OLED as a good tech for me... if you go to the TV OT on the gaming side you'll see that even the latest gen LG OLED tvs suffer from those problems so i'll remain skeptical until i see it with my own eyes.

Well finally OnePlus has gotten around to an Australian release, or at least announcing they are finally going to try to sell phones here.

Whilst I may not buy one, its good to have another option in the non ludicrously priced decently made phone category.

'Tis the joke, kaiyo

Moto Z2 Force reviews are dropping now. Should make for decent reading

Lol everyone seems to hate these phones. Like the only good thing is it runs android smooth lol. Everything else is compromise.

My next phone y'all (out of no where)

Lol but seriously, how many of you will consider this if it got outstanding reviews?

Go for the potential trap?

I'll just wait a few months for the same phone rebranded as pixel 2 xl.

Or wait for when it's like fire sale prices in January.

Decided to wait again for building my PC. I want to buy a new phone first. Debating between an S8+, Note 8, and the Essential Phone.

It's all going to come down to reviews of the last two.

booooooooooooooooooooooooooo

I'm actually toying with building a new pc too. I totally don't need it and don't really have the money for it, but I wanna finally make a custom watercooling setup and stick an 8 core Ryzen into it.

Anyone gone from a Moto G3 to E4? Can get one real cheap and would like NFC and fingerprint reader. I am worried about the mediatech chip and lower quality camera though.

Hoping this will be a good place to ask:

My Galaxy S6 Active took a tumble last night while going through a metal detector. The screen suffered its first cracks, and there was some purple color at the bottom. This discoloration spread throughout the evening. By the time I got home, I was unable to navigate through screens, so I was unable to setup the Samsung backup stuff. I was also stupid and didn't disable the lock screen password.

In the morning, the screen was down to about three vertical blue lines, but thanks to the vibration, I was able to feel my way through the lock screen and connect the phone to my PC. I copied everything, forgetting of course that a whole bunch of stuff doesn't actually copy.

By the time I got to the store (AT&T), the screen was totally non-functional. This meant I couldn't unlock it for any file transfers, nor could I try to use Smart Switch at home. I picked up an S8+.

My question is this: could I remove the SIM card from the S6 and place it in the S8+ to use Smart Switch to get my contacts, then switch them back? As far as I know they should be present on the SIM (never used an SD card), unless I've grossly misunderstood what Google searching has told me.

So I decided to return the OnePlus 5. Here's hoping I get my money back as I fear a small scratch may have already occurred on the inner side of the camera protrusion, but I guess I have to be realistic about that. (If I've noticed it I'm sure they will!) I don't suppose anyone has had any success arguing that something like that has been there from the moment of purchase?

Why are you storing your contacts in your SIM? You should check first if they're not stored in your Google Account. If they're stored in your Google Account, all you have to do is go to your Contact list > Settings > Shown contacts > Select your Google Account.

In case you actually stored them in the SIM, then you could insert the SIM and copy the contacts to your Google Account.

Nice. Top and bottom bezels are even smaller than the Note 8. Doesn't look like the display is curved, or at least not to the same degree as the S8. LG needs to improve its software before I'd consider one of their phones.

What are the issues with the software? Does it perform more consistently than TouchWiz?

That's just it, I have no idea where they were stored. I know I had some Gmail contacts import on my last phone, but now they're not even showing up after I've synced to my Google account. I'll definitely be using all the backup methods after this.

Supply issues maybe?

think the phone was just delayed a while. it was announced ages ago. think SD835 shortage is done, we have chinese companies putting 'budget' flagships out already, is usually the sign.

Also if money is an issue, don't get an essential, fair chance of them folding and you'll be sad :(

Yeah, Essential is looking like it's in a rough spot. At least Samsung is probably going to be around for awhile.

So, it's going to be the G6, S8+, or Note 8. The Essential is still on the list, but only time will tell.

Through sheer stubbornness and muscle memory, I was able to unlock the phone and luck into the "Allow" button. The UI for the transfer program is not great on PC, so I transferred all the photos and music I already had, but I'm not going to complain about that. Contacts are back without having to resort to the embarrassing "send me your number" Facebook post.

You know, note 8 is fairly disappointing compare to the rumors.

No 4k screen. No underscreen fingerprint sensor.

Dual cameras and a high MSRP are like the only rumors that came true lol.

Why should TouchWiz be a benchmark lol

I agree it's quite ugly. It's honestly kinda off-putting to look at.

It is for me because the Galaxy S8 series is the best looking phone in existence right now and it's feature packed. If LG's is also as feature packed with good battery, that sounds like a win to me.

Yep, I never buy at launch. I don't think I've paid more than $530 off contract for any flagship. I waited on the S7 Edge to drop to a nice price. I don't give a shit if I'm buying a phone 6 months in. I think I paid around the same price for my Xperia.

That's why if this hits all the marks, I may have to cop it. It will honestly depend on battery life and how wide it actually enda up being. The G6 actually had a good camera so they just have to maintain that.
