Angry Gamer

New to me. And telling. A hundred bucks for Live and the appropriate equipment is not worth that. Unless it's staged; even if it is, I'm worried that Live is really like that enough to make the added expense a waste. EDTVs in 2006 aren't as bad a purchase in this scenario.

Anyone still have the link to the file of the 10 year old xbox live player demanding he get a chocolate milk?

No. it's his older brother.

The constant shouting and swearing is not so common as might be feared. To be honest the most common problems I've encountered are as follows:

1) Quitters
2) The language barrier
3) General incompetence
4) The language barrier
5) Kids, God love 'em for trying though

I still view Xbox Live as a very worthwhile investment. And as for the "necessary equipment" I still use my original head set, though I must admit that it's glued together, but it works and that's better than being a filthy No-Mic. :lol

...

I will never swear during another DM again.

i'm that way with SF3rd strike online though

people on live are generally dicks though. especially on burnout, they kicked me out of rooms just for being there...or just for my name, I don't say anything (don't use mic) and they just go on babbling about crap then just kick me out constantly for no reason.

Ok would be parents seeing this on GAF, this is exactly how your child will turn out if you don't spank the shit out of him/her on a regular basis.

Remember people, hit your fucking kids. Please for the sake of our future.

Wow ... If I didn't know better, I'd think it was my buddy Rick.

We'd be walking in the woods partying, and he'd start raising his fist at his GB :lol Seriously, he'd actually threaten it :D

That chocolate milk one's pretty funny too. If that's real, I'd be beating that kid's ass if he were my kid.

I've been kicked out of rooms for being American on a few occasions (or at least that was the stated reason anyways).

Pretty much their loss, I've had many good experiences to go along with the bad (like playing a game of co-op on Rainbow Six 3 with real Navy Seals (first game I played too.) Live is awesome for all the different people you meet (and with that, naturally comes the cream of the crap too.) I tend to make lotsa freinds though, so for the most part the bad experiences don't bother me too much, smack-talk is cool, but if they don't wanna play nice (ie, they don't wish to act like civilised human beings), I just leave the match and find another.

I don't think I've yet encountered anything as bad as those vids though, close, but not quite that bad.

You know, normally I'm pretty opposed to this, but this video presents some incredible evidence that is contrary to my opinion.

To the parents of this kid: please hit your child.

Or you could try paying attention to him instead of sending him to his room to play videogames. Just a thought from an actual GAF parent.

What the hell? In my experience, it's the kids that get spanked and treated like crap by their parents that act like this.

In psychology we use a very technical term to describe the parenting style that generally leads to this behavior.

Neglect

I hope you detected my sarcasm earlier. In case you didn't...

I was being sarcastic

Also: TIME IS MONEY

I'm being sarcastic again! :D

Holy crap. :lol :lol :lol

Ive never played anyone that angry. I did listen to someone beat his kid for acting up while he was playing NFL2k5. That was my best XBL moment. :D

:(

Actually, that capped it nicely. :lol

All that aside - this kid needs something, and it sure isn't more time infront of the XBox. he clearly got some rage issues that are not being helped any. Reminds me of a skit on (I'm going to age myself right here) "you can't do that on television" on Nickleodeon when I was a kid. The dad is just going nuts screaming at the TV during a basketball game, shrieking and hollering at the game on end. The kid asks why he watches it and he yells "TO RELAX ME!".

I hope when this kid left at the end he went outside.

I never understood why parents put televisions in children's rooms, anyway. It seems like you're just inviting bad habits and problems.

Why does that sound so bizarre to me? Walking in the woods, partying with your buddy rick...

That's a pretty old video. Sadly, this kid resembles the majority of XBL's userbase, except through in a good amount of racism and a larger variety of cuss words.

raising his fist at his GB? what's a GB?

edit: oh, is it Game Boy? What're you doing in the woods partying with a Game Boy for?

I agree. My 2 oldest sons(11&14) play on live and they don't act like this. But I also admit that most of the parents that I know don't play videogames(or anything for that matter) with their kids either. Probably why they all come to my house everyday.

that chocolate milk kid sounds like my son in 5 years. You can spot the typical childish behaviour.

The change of subject when his mom is counting down to turning the xbox off is really slick - put the mom on defensive.

There's no way this little shit's parents can't hear what's going on. Time for mommy and daddy to take the Xbox away and get junior some anger management.

Maybe I'm just lucky or something, but this is NOT a common occurence for me on Live, and I've been using it since it launched. I've hit the odd angry gamer or moron just trying to be a dick, but I find they generally get weeded out quickly.

95% of the folks I've played on Live have been good people.

Oh my god, I'd never seen that chocolate milk vid. The first kid was fucked up enough. But that second kid needs his ass kicked on a regular basis for screaming at his parents like that.

That chocolate milk kid has been really screwed up by his parents - in my childhood if my mum yelled at me from her bedroom to turn the TV down and I yelled something back, she would have been in the room within 3 seconds turning the TV off and sending me to bed. If I tried to change the topic and tell her she promised she would bring me a drink she would tell me not to be ridiculous and get to bed, and if I argued or swore like this kid I would have been smacked and I would be lucky to get my Xbox back after a month. Actually if I acted like chocolate milk kid I would have lost the TV from my bedroom and the Xbox would have been given to a cousin, and I would have forced to spend every weekend working with Dad on whatever his latest handyman project was.

The point is - chocolate milk kid's problem isn't videogames, it's his mum (sorry, "mom"). This behaviour is obviously the result of years of half-assed parenting. I can't believe he yelled all that from his room or loungeroom and his mum didn't go to correct his behaviour as soon as it started, and instead just had a yelling match from her bedroom.

Who knows what the story is with Angry Gamer. Who was taping him? Did he know he was being taped? Did someone do it to shame him or is it all an act?

I say it's staged, and if I acted the way that punk did towards my mother, she'd have kicked the snot out of me. Plain and simple.

Of course nowadays, parents have been conditioned to be afraid to even lay a finger on their kids for fear they'll call the cops and claim to be abused. I say if my kid (when I have one) is way outta line and I go to punish them, if they as much as whisper about calling the cops, I will beat their ass then dial the number for them. My parents didn't take that sort of shit, and neither will I.

One of my fiance's friends tried that once to her mother; The cops asked why she got hit -- guess she mouthed off something fierce -- and you know what the cop said? "Serves you right. You shouldn't be talking to your mother like that." :lol

Exactly. I mean...I was allowed to swear around my father (single parent household and all), but if I swore AT him? Oh man. A conversation like the one chocolate milk kid was having with my dad would have lasted about 2 seconds -- as long as it took the old man to come down the hallway to my room.

Maybe the parents taped him after hearing the tantrums every night? I'd say they'd play it back to him to show how stupid it is.

That's exactly what I thought watching this. Hopefully, this video let his parents know that he needed a little help.
