Yay! I also have the fishing rod and the shovel. Just bought both after selling a bunch of apples (the fruit in my village).

Also it seems they sell stuff for game coins. I just bought a fortune cookie for 2 coins.

Were you getting error code 018-0502?

According to NOE's website (they've got an error code lookup)

It means the 3DS can't find an access point. That's what I've been getting.

I've never ever gotten the fishing rod on my first day in the GC version. It usually arrives a day or two later, but having it on the first day ludicrously speeds up bell-grinding. So now I'm wondering if the fishing rod is always going to be an option for every player on the first day in this version.

Well it can't be a region lock surely? They said some items are region specific and you'd have to trade with other regions to get them. Also it never mentions it anywhere and it allows you to search for towns.

I asked if anyone has managed to do it on 2ch, waiting for a response.

EDIT: That design took me about an hour and a half, it was quite difficult and it's still not perfect. Want to make more but Abel's is closed. T_T

Really liking this game after barely playing the DS one and skipping the Wii one. I played the hell out of the GC one though, but a lot of things are so different now...

Anyway, most of the stores seem to open later, so I gotta go to work (also Halo 4 releases here today, so I'll go and grab it before going to work :p)

Just remember that you can always set the store hours to your preference. Not sure how long one has to wait for that to happen

Those 7/11 items:O Someone here needs to go and get them all, then share with us non-japan-living people!...assuming this game will have a nook catalogue ordering type deal at some point.

And I really hope it's not online locked or something, that would suck.

Yeah I know, but its not available from the beginning. I guess it will take maybe a few days until I can change it, dunno...
Now I'm on a queue in front of a store here waiting to buy Halo 4 (releases today here). I bet some people here are playing Animal Crossing as well :p

It's like the original painting tool, except you have 4 pages. One page is the typical big square for the front, then another big square for the back, then two long squares for the sleeves. So you get to paint details for all the parts of the clothes (long, short and no-sleeve shirts, helmets (caps?), and something else I forgot).

So yeah, my shirt has the GAF logo on the front, my nickname on the back and then orange and blue stripes on the sides. It costs 500 coins to make, though! :)

You can also copy&paste designs from one sleeve to the other, or the front to the back, so you can design just one side and then mirror it for the other sleeve and the back.

Didn't I read somewhere that it's possible to take snapshots in-game, just like in Let's Go to the City/City Folk? Could someone confirm/deny the presence of this feature? Just wondering since everyone seems to be taking off-screen camera screenshots...

Yes, you can with the shoulder buttons.

Today's silly question, any help would be greatly appreciated: I still can't save the game, Tom Nook is stalking me; he won't let me walk onto any of the beaches, walk across the train track to where the stores are, go into the mayors office (my $€#%ing office!) or catch a train. Nor does the game allow me to take him down and ground & pound him. What to do?! What to do?! As always, many thanks in advance:)

AC is hard to play for a night owl like myself. After Tom Nook closes at 10pm or 11pm it's hard to make bells.

Also, seeing those Friend Codes in the OP makes me rage on the inside. Iwata promised me online would be revamped on 3DS, and we still have friend codes. I hope that changes with the WiiU!

Do you have a house yet? If you are where I think, then he wants you to choose a house location. Find somewhere you like and talk to him.
