alright, you guys rock. the only one no one got was #2, which i pretty much expected.

it was Hundred Stories, which was released in the US as Requiem from the Darkness

the only one i recognize on slayn's is
last exile
and whatever that last clip is i KNOW i've seen that anime, i just can't place the song

Yeah, a lot of obscure choices to me.
Last Exile (4) and Haibane Renmei (6)were immediately obvious.

But that last one? You really should know it, atomsk.
I don't like the OP, but it's quite obviously from Neon Genesis Evangelion.

I do not know my 80's anime at all

as for mine (hints, not solutions, yet)

1. movie and tv series from clamp
2. based on the first of a long running jap rpg series
3. from the newest season of anime
4. how can people not recognize 'cloud age symphony'? :(
5. COME ON! A long running and still going excellent anime that everyone needs to be slapped for not recognizing. This ending is so... distinct. The ending also has nothing... and yet everything, to do with the anime.
6. I don't really know any good hitns for this one but people are getting it anyway

9. extremely controversial (as to whether its an excellent anime or over rated) and includes giant robots.

damn, i've seen every one of them exept basilisk, my memory failed on this test.

I dont remember the Monster song, is it in the first few episodes ? i stopped watching it because it's just like reading the manga.

the monster one, is a sectino of the ending song, that has played at the end of every single episode =P

either, I have the anime, in which case I load it up in virtualdub and put begin (home key) and end (end key) markers of the section I want, and then save as wav

or I have an mp3 that I open in soudforge, highlite the part I want, save it. Its really just a matter of having programs you know and doing a lot of copy-paste.

I could bring all sorts of crazy stuff out of the woodwork, but aside from any time concerns I just don't have the software to mess around with making a comp file.

Now that's a stumper. The one slayn pointed out was the only obvious one, although #10 is another one of those I obviously know but can't place it at the moment. #1 and #10 both sound interesting enough for me to want to hear more, but I can't place them at all.

Pretty good. I could've sworn nobody would get 2, 5, and 6.

As for 7: Based on a sports anime. I don't believe its been localized in America?
As for 8: Hint: Based on an old Sega game. Ah, damn that's a dead give-away.
