Jin

Id say Ran would win in a 'real world' fight. She and Jin are probably the closest to actual samurai in terms of behavior. Ran however has some really solid skills that are all founded on real elements of a fight.

Jin comes close, I mean in champloo you see some cool shit, but a lot of it comes off as super-natural.

Which brings up the point that Jin would win in a fight in the champloo universe which actually entertains the idea of life force being used as a weapon.

Kenshin is dumbfuck honestly and I dont think he should be allowed to be a samurai.

I think kenshin can go super, but not sure what level. But that makes him less of a samurai. And before anyoine brings that bleach bullshit into the equation, fuck off.

The only reason Kenshin wins any battles is because his dumbshit enemies stand there and give him a detailed explanation of their deadliest attacks. :-/

Kenshin: You think I cant defeat you?

Enemy: I know you cant, Kenshin! I am immortal, the only way you could evade my ultra one hit kill attack is for you to DO A BARREL ROLL!

Jin easily, his fights were a lot better than Kenshin's fights

typical Kenshin fight
Kenshin: don't fight, i love you
thirty minutes later
Kenshin: understand please fighting doesn't take you anywhere
and then Kenshin procceds to do a monologue about why he has a reverse-blade and his philosophy of life.

typical Jin fight
slash, slash and slash over
Jin: you were sayin'?

can comment on Ran never seen her

Tsukikage Run, a 13 episode series. A delightful one at that, haters be damned it was a fun romp through japan.

Hmm thanks I'll check it out.

You Kenshin haters need to watch Samurai X.

Anyway, to answer the question: KENSHIN, beeotches.

Jin is bad ass... In fact, he's real bad ass. But, Kenshin (especially in his earlier days) is EVEN more bad ass.

As for the Kenshin TV show, it's much more lighthearted than any of the comeptition in this thread. There are still some very entertaining fights, though... e.g. Saito, Aoshi, and Shishio.

kazemakase tsukikage ran. It's nothing special at all. Ran runs around looking for sake and dispatches arrogant, incompetent swordsmen. HILARITY ENSUES (not really).

Kenshin was badass in the OVA's. In Rurouni Kenshin, not so much. Mugen is cool because of some of the breakdancing martial arts that he does, but I still prefer Jin over him, mianly because Jin's swordfights are awesome. I would say Roronoa Zoro as well, but I don't really think he can be considered a samurai. More of a swordsman.

P.S.: Samurai Jack is freaking awesome.

I'd go with Kenshin just because he's the most archetypal of the pretty boy Samurai and is in many ways the character that started all other imitators, which naturally try to be cooler than Kenshin.

Oh yeah, this thread is pretty funny, in a bad/otaku way. LOL.

Kenshin.

<---

Of course!!!!

And for everyone's information, Kenshin in the series > Kenshin in the OVA(s). In the manga it's just one big phat story but what I'm saying is that Kenshin was much stronger in the fight against Shishio than he ever was in his past. Did you n00bs even see Kenshin's Amakekeru ryu no hirameki when he used it on Shishio? That was way too fucking badass. Shishio would've been sliced in half, obviously, if Kenshin used a regular sword. And of course, during the final fight with Enishi (the manga), Kenshin was as strong as ever since he had found his "truth" and peace at last. :)

Uh-huh, and tsuiokuhen >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> RK TV
Well, I didn't enjoy Tsuiokuhen as much as the TV series because Tsuiokuhen feels so very different. Thank God all the voices are the same (I worship the voice-actress of Kenshin), but it's so damn serious... Well. Maybe I didn't like it because I already knew the story and ending because I read the manga. It sucks but the manga is just better than the anime, even though the anime has really good improvements in the Kyoto arc and before that. I just can't believe they didn't just follow the story of the manga. :( That's why I think there should be a live-action movie, or the anime should be completely rewritten and remade but with the same voice actors/actresses (and that should be hard).

For live action bakumatsu just watch Mibu Gishi Den instead of wishing for what would almost definitely end up being an incredibly bad live action RK movie.

Obviously you're a hardcore RK fan, and that's fine. The storyline in the manga, though, while it's a hell of a lot better than the post-kyoto anime filler or the worthless seisouhen ending, isn't perfect. Tsuiokuhen wasn't aiming at being 100% faithful to the source material; it was aiming at being as good as it could be in its own format. With that I think it succeeds. A tsuiokuhen that's panel-to-panel faithful to the manga arc, with the same artstyle and kenshin yelling out the attack names and all that crap, wouldn't be something that I'd recommend universally to anyone with an open mind about anime. In actuality tsuiokuhen is. *shrug*

Tsuiokuhen... was the prequel OVAs yeah?

God you guys are so utterly geeky sometimes, it's difficult even for other geeks to understand.

Tsuiokuhen, Reminiscence Saga, Rurouni Kenshin OVA 1 (eps 1-4), Samurai X Trust & Betrayal, etc.

I still say a live action RK movie could work. I'm telling you. What makes you think it won't work? They made a movie about Spider-man, the X-Men, Batman and even the Hulk! Finding really good actors with the proper looks would be kinda hard though.

I agree. The adaption was much better (but could have been even better) than the manga. What I meant was that the TV series should have gone like the manga (post-Kyoto arc), but kept the improvements.
