Annoying PC issue

K, here's my problem quick and dirty:

When I upgraded my PC a little less than a year ago, I left in my old (soon-to-die) HDD so I could pull some needed files off it onto the new one. I can't recall exactly what I did that it happened, but now my one and only HDD is Drive G:

That's the drive my Windows system files are on, and everything else. So the question is, how the heck do I get it to become drive c:? I tried to do it through Windows, but it won't let you change your system drive... Frankly, I didn't have any problems with it being drive G, but it seems like there's some installation software out there that's dumb enough to think everyone's windows partition is on C (which of course is true 99% of the time).

I haven't hit the roadblock with anything I can't live without yet (GuidePlus+ for my newly purchased video card and the demo for Doom 3), but I'm sure one day this is going to be ugly.

EDIT: The more I look into it, the more it looks like I'm more or less boned... :(
