Another IGN win: Dragon Ball Sparking Zero scores the same as Concord 😂

It has a little something for everyone

Didn’t IGN also gave a score of 7 to Pokémon that one time with the “too much water”?

Seems to me that 7 is the score IGN uses when it didn’t really play the game.
Kalle Plagge for IGN was "too much water"

She also reviewed Cyberpunk and didn't do any side missions to help the police because ACAB. She thought she was sticking it to the US police by not properly reviewing a game made in Poland.

There is a reason there is no competent journalists in gaming. If they were competent they wouldn't be in gaming

I’d rather go off something like Famitsu where they have 4 reviewers review the game at a time. We have no idea what type of person these large outlets get to write their reviews. They often get side tracked by some petty issue. It makes the entire site look like they have a terrible taste in games.

She also tried to #MeToo the entire male staff and managed to get some fired.

The point of this thread is to laugh at IGN for giving the same scores to an incredible game and an incredibly shit game. Objective facts. I don’t think it goes deeper than that.
That is an impossible task. You can't review games and end up ranking htem all because of their score.
While I disagree. Was it the same guy reviewing it?
Doubtful. more reason this outrage is not well founded.

IGN is a joke, always has been, always will be. Why are we making threads about them?

So the problem is not that Dragonball deserves a better score but that Concord should have been given a lower score. Sparking is at 81 on MC so a 7 seems in line with that
People are so deep into Concord's brainrot, but as someone else pointed out, there's two very different 7/10s here.
A 7/10 for a $40 hero shooter that doesn't do anything special compared to the most popular F2P ones.
And a 7/10 anime arena fighter that's a blast as a party game due to it basically being the ultimate DB simulator.

So? It's a Scamco anime Dragon ball game, 7 is generous if you ask me, I wouldn't score these (battle arena) games anything above a 6 anyways and didn't Concord have solid gameplay? not surprised tbh.

It’s a 1v1 3D fighter. Not a battle arena.

It's the same thing isn't it? doesn't change my point anyway, these games are nothing special, shallow combat with decent graphics, apparently the game has only 12 arenas to fight in as well, lame but not surprising as it's a Scamco game, gotta save them pennies.

Idk FighterZ seemed aight. How many of these "shallow Scamco games" are there anyway to create this kind of pattern to make a take on? Sorry I'm not that knowledgeable, I see Namco/Bandai and start thinking Soul Calibur and Tekken. Is it that bad lol

FighterZ was great, I'm talking specifically about the Budokai/Tenkaichi style games, add in those Naruto arena games as well and the plethora of other anime fighting games they've made, they're designed specifically with the fans of the anime in mind, they're not meant to be deep with complex mechanics like Tekken or soul calibur.

I think Dragon Ball is a much better game, but Concord wasn't cancelled for being bad, it was because it entered a saturated genre and at 40€. I believe more the 7 of Concord, than the 7 to Dragon Ball. That said, IGN is currently one of the worst review sites for video game reviews, it has very little objective analysts and with too much desire for prominence.

Why would a game which got a 7/10 review be cancelled/deprecated in barely a month since its release date?

Heck, even Bleeding Edge is still around, and the only game close to Concord’s disaster is Redfall, but correct me if I’m wrong the game can still be played

The only thing keeping IGN reviews relevant is Metacritic and Opencritic. Nobody reads these reviews and nobody gives a shit. They made this game for the fans and it’s selling like crazy.

Well I wouldn't want any anime games made with fans of the anime in mind, fuck that...
