Ok, I did a little poking around, couldn't find the answer I wanted... but I did garner a few things
- playback quality is very high; much better than an ipod; on par with ?
- accepts MP3 and Atrac format; atrac format is hardware decoded; what other formats does it play
- it shows embedded front cover album art in a tiny box; about 60*60 pixels I'd say; can it show it at the native size?
- music needs to be placed into a /music folder on the memory stick; supports a single folder depth (i.e. can't split folders into artists then artists into albums by artist); m3u files need to be in the same folder as the music?
- music only battery life seems to be about 10-20 hours for the PSP; what do people think?
My main question would be what other music formats does it support? And what kind of bitrate is suggested (i.e. the point of diminishing return due to the PSP's audio quality).
What's the best/most popular freely available music file converter? Or what about the most popular commercially available converter? Specifically any good WMA > MP3 batch converters around? (won't be needed if the PSP supports wma)
And just a general PSP question, how easy is it to swap out the battery? Do people usually carry the extra battery pack around and if they do, do they swap it in and out much?
