I'm just starting to learn Italian in university and I was wondering if there were any Italian forums similar to GAF or at least a good Italian videogame forum, that way I not only learn more but I get to talk about something I'm interested in.

Not really. But I went to italy last january and I discovered that I could communicate with Italians while speaking french and gesturing. You should try joining french videogame boards and use as many smilies as possible.

Ooo me me me! *jumps up and down waving hand in the air* I'm Italian. =D Maybe we can learn a bit more together? I only know basic words/phrases and stuff from family mostly. Feel free to PM me if you like. Gli abbracci~ <3 <3 <3

I took three semesters of it, and I found a good source is just to read news websites like La Corriere Della Sera, La Repubblica, La Stampa, etc.

Hugs. =D

Or I guess you could say, gli abbraci i baci (hugs and kisses).

Corny, I know. =[ Somehow cute words sound so much cuter/cool when they're in a different language, though...

How close is Italian to Spanish? I have 4 years of Spanish experience, and am thinking of a new language to take that is similar (so I can learn faster).

its real close I'm a native spanish speaker and I can easily read/deduce alot of words. I'm sure you'll have no trouble reading it. Now speaking it is a whole other matter...

If you want some good Italian videogame boards, try nextgame.it or forumeye.it. These are the two biggest boards we have.

Spanish is very similar, because they are both neolatin languages, so many words are similar. I can easily understand the general meaning of a Spanish dialogue or writing.

If you need more info, feel free to ask
