Any New Years Resolutions?

So, for this year, 2005, what are your resolutions?

I usually don't have any, but I think I am in serious need for some this year. My lack have goals have created a sort of apathetic indolence. I need a kickstart.

So here are mine:

Do my homework, be more responsible, and get my GPA back up to a 3.7. It won't be easy, but if I do the first two, it shouldn't be that hard... as Arnold would say, I "...lack discipline." It takes 21 days to pick up a habit... so if I can do my homework, throughly for a month, I figure it will become second nature. That includes weekends...

Do something more constructive with my time. Write some more skits, pick up drawing again, or do something else (the sewing machine beckons) Messing around on GA, and playing videogames is great, but other than a few laughs from me and my friends, it yields little in the way of "staying" power. Very little since of accomplishment.

Learn to speed read. I hear speed reading is really good for ACT/SAT etc.

Stop being so hard on myself. Apparently, I am a pretty pessimistic when it comes to achieving my goals. Something I thought wasn't true, until my guidance councilor pointed out that I only notice negative things about myself.

Hopefully, I can do all of these things. It will be hard sticking to them and changing my frame of thinking/acting... but I think I can do it.

Okay, that's about it for me. What about yours?

Same resolution I made last year, only I tacked more on. My resolution is to get a new girlfriend. I actually did it last year, though now I need another new one. The addition it to flirt more.

Wait. You already have one, and you want a SECOND girlfriend? I must be reading that wrong...

I had a girlfriend in 2004. She broke up with me on Halloween. There's no crazy story behind it, she just did.

There is no "one". There's just the 200,000 and whoever you're lucky enough to meet first gets labled "the one".

I have to disagree haven't you ever met a girl ( or guy for those gayming agers) that when you look into her eyes you see the rest of your whole life with her....

1. Keep working out and do exercise daily, let it be walking or swiming for an hour, doesnt matter what I do, just as long as I do some.

2. Quit eating chocoloate.

3. Stop biting my nails.

4. Be more consistant with school and my work. Ive got to make sure that I dont mess around in school, get my head down and work hard. I also want to make sure that I do all my homework.

5. Forget about finding 'the one' I already have. I want to make sure that I put in 110% in making her happy and continue the relationship.

Yes.

I'm going to try and make it through January on no more than $50 (that means gas to get to and from school, and lunches). The main thing that will help me do this is, unfortunately, 2-hour rides on the bus, but the school gives us a free pass for all of the public transportation in the area, so I might as well take advantage of it. I'm going to ask my brother if I can have his old GBA, he has a GBA SP anyway...

I'm glad I'm not the only one who made this sort of Resolution. Of course, I failed at my Resolution.....

OR DID I?

I guess I should stop being a smartass and contribute.

Resolution #1: Get my poetry published. To achieve this one, there are a bunch of other resolutions that I have to meet: Read poetry on a regular basis, and start WRITING again. As of this second, I haven't finished anything new since April...too long.

Resolution #2: Get back into basketball shape. I miss playing on Saturdays, but I'm not going back until I won't be a liability. Getting sick this summer absolutely screwed up my fitness level, and I've never gotten back. In addition to going to the gym more regularly, I need to find some way of exercising consistently on the road when I travel.

Resolution #3: Stop being a ghost. Many of my friends live out of the local area, and it can be months between get-togethers. I need to make far more of an effort to be available -- I'm missing out on so much.

Resolution #4: Reduce my gaming backlog. I have a ton of games that I never play...what's up with THAT? The PS2 needs the most attention, sadly enough.
