any news on the red star?

drohne

hyperbolically metafictive
i was just cleaning my room, and i happened on some red star fliers from e3. which made me wonder. any rumblings that it's been picked up? it was nearly finished at acclaim, as i understand. like acclaim to collapse just prior to the scheduled release of the first great original game of their long, dismal history. come on, gaf INDUSTRY INSIDERS. enlighten us.

I was really looking forward to it. I'd like an update as well.

Cool game, but not coming out. Acclaim went under remember? If they would've found a place for it to be published, I'm sure we would know by now, the game was done I think.

We can always hope the gus who made it started their own studio to bring it back, or I don't know. But I doub't it. It's not a title everyone would love to publish I guess.

Fixed... is to was.

It's kind of sad that Acclaim's last quality product, and probably their only good product in years, is being completely ignored by other publishers because it doesn't fall into that realm of "profitable product". If it was sports or street racing, like Juiced, someone sure would've picked it up, I can guarantee that! I hate everybody.

Any Xbox owners what some good 2 player beat em up action get Samurai Warriors!

But yeah the red star demo was HAWT!

I was at a TRU in Chicago and they had display boxes of it on the shelf, it was sort of sad (they obviously didn't have it in stock but just some pr material that got out before the hammer fell).

I can 1CC beta release 2, but not beta release 1. But I suppose that would only really count as news if I could do both.

One of Xbox Nation's unpublished masterworks was a review of The Red Star by one Mr. Kevin Gifford.

It was going to run in the same issue the Juiced review was slated to appear in...

Can't some irresponsible game journalist just rip it for the warez scene?

If Half Life DC and Propeller Arena made it to the public, I trust that this game will do the same.

The game wasn't mostly finished... it WAS finished. It had been sent off for certification just before Acclaim went under. It came back with a couple things to fix, but they amounted to literally a week of work, or less.

It'll happen if this game doesn't come out in retail, I'm sure. It'll probably have to wait a couple years though...

I would like to read that. Any chances of obtaining a transcript of some sort?

Probably not.

For one thing, I'm not sure where the text is anymore.

There'd probably also be legal issues. Ziff paid Mr. Fox for the text, so I guess it owns the review, even if it's not published.

Someone will release the game, legal-like.

Patience.

There's rumblings of multiple interested publishers... so I've heard. So, can anyone give me any information as to that unpublished review? I have good reason for wanting it and would be glad to detail in private.

The game should still have a chance of coming out. Image Comics/Red Star Team should hold the rights to the game.

Still holding onto the slim hope that it'll see release.

100 Bullets was still far off- Red Star was literally out the door and ready for manufacture. There is a very real chance that the game will still come out, and cheap too. Keep your fingers crossed. So, that review? ;)
