Any protips for applying screen covers to the DS?

Start on one side (say the left), and drop it perfectly in place. Then use a CREDIT CARD to apply the rest of it, by sliding it across (not too gentle, not too rough) the screen cover, left to right, until it's all applied.

MAKE SURE there is no dust stuck to the cover or resting on the screen, or air bubbles galore!

ProTip: you don't need screen covers for the DS.
I've seen some pretty f'ed up DS units in stores.

Not to mention Castlevania basically requires you to use your finger on the touch screen, or play with the stylus in your teeth like a savage, nerdy pirate.

I've applied an Exim screen cover to both DS screens and haven't had a lick of problems (or scratches.)

You don't need to use your finger to finish off the Magic Seals in Castlevania DoS. Magic Seal input is timed, yes, but the timer doesn't start until you START DRAWING. So once the Magic Seal circle pops on screen, you have all the time in the world to casually disengage the stylus from it's caddy and get comfortable.

Do not apply a screen cover to the touch screen. Consider yourself warned.
I don't know if you're under message board NDA or something, but don't feel like you have to be coy with me! In fact, I'd much prefer precise anecdotal evidence rather than vague warnings like that :)

edit: did not know that thing about the seals.

It's just really hard to get out afterwards... a-duh. :p

Anything in a store gets destroyed. I've seen PlayStation 2 controllers missing the analog stick. That doesn't mean I have to go and buy an Analog Stick Protector for mine.

The most important thing is NO single dust, even a super tiny one on the screen or under the screen protector when applyinbg the scren protector, otherwise it will develop annoying air bubbles. Remove dust with scotch tape. I applied my PSP screen protector in the bathroom. I first let the hot water run for a while so dust particles in the air dropped to the ground.

That's hardcore.

Yeah, but accidents happen, things fall apart. I've got a bunch of N64 controllers with useless analog sticks that can atest to that.

I used the steamed bathroom trick to apply my screen protectors on the DS and PSP as well.

Thank g-d for GB Micro faceplates... they double as screen protectors.

Big rule of thumb is to affix the screen protector right on the first try, with a minimum of fuss. Clean off the screen, unwrap the protector, peel the backing, apply with the credit card, voila. If you can manage that in less than a minute, you probably won't have to worry about dust particles or anything. The dust gets in there if you remove and reapply the protector over and over again, trying to get it right.

Yeah... that ship has sailed. At least I got a terry cloth. A $6 terry cloth :(

I was in Wal-Mart yesterday and was naturally browsing through the game section; the Xbox controller was missing. The cord was still there though, with the wires sticking out where the controller was. I think I saw teeth marks on the end of it.

The GameCube controller was missing it's analog stick too.

Not sure about the PS2 controller. I think it might have been intact. Must have been recently replaced.

I think my DS was fine until I bought Ouendan, I mean you have to draw circles really really fast and I can't help to press the stylus pretty hard when I'm panicking :)
