ANy PSP pre-sales WITHOUT a bundle?

Just curious--

I assumed (foolishly!) that pre-ordering would allow me to get a system without a bundle. SO far, it looks like every place is bundling.

I pre-ordered at EB, so assuming I'm getting 3 games anyway, it's not too bad a deal. But I thought I might *not* get that many games all at once.

Anybody know of any other deals?

At the physical store (if your local EB is still taking pre-orders) you can just get the system by itself.

EDIT ^^^ what he said.

Really? Are they trying to force you to buy their bundles online, or is it merely an issue of not being able to stock enough?

I'm good then. I did pre-order there. I was just worried that they'd only sell the bundle. (When I poreordered, there were no specifics.)

They will only be given a limited allocation at launch (how limited is the question) and given the Japanese launch and supply issues, there's no way in hell they'll have enough units to fully and adequately support both the US & European launches in March.

Expect shortages.

I wonder what will happen at my store (since it's one of Toronto's biggest) if they have recieved more preorders than they will recieve PSPs for when March comes along.

If you want a PSP on launch day without markups or forced bundles, your best bet is to skip all the game stores and head to a Walmart or Target or a similar type of store. You may have to go somewhere else to get every game and accessory you want, but at least you will get the system without having to jump through hoops.

There will be no shortages. Plenty of PSP's will be available at launch. Don't believe the Sony marketing machine.

If, for some strange reason, there is a shortage, blame the Sony marketing machine for being too damn good and get a DS instead.

Yup. I may skip the preorder all together and just hit Walmart on midnight the day the PSP is released.

What? I'm glad I can use these words of comfort and not line up to get a PSP right away. :lol

Damn this junior member "no new posts" rule. MrBob gave me an idea for a neat topic. How many of you actually enjoy the camping out process? I went with my buddy's overnight to get a launch PS2 and a launch XBOX. Both times were fun experiences (although it rained a little for the XBOX launch). For one, you're actually standing in line with people who have something in common with you. The whole atmosphere of excitement for the new console and overall good mood of the people makes for a positive experience with fellow gamers.

When I preordered at Gamestop in-store, I asked if they were going to force early adopters into a bundle, and the manager said he wasn't going to do that. If they change that, I'll cancel my preorder.

Just put 50 bucks down on it this morning at Gamestop. I would just got to Target or something like that launch day, but I'm up at school without my car and there is nothing like that in town. At least i'm sure to get it on launch now, so I can deal with the large deposit.

It's a good rule.

I'm getting mine from EB, mainly because I'm paying for it with trade-ins.

That's what I did with the DS. Made over $1000. I will do the same for the PSP. Can't wait!!! :lol
