Any tips for running old games?

I decided to play Fallout and it's not running well at all on my year and a half old PC running XP. It's freezing when I do thinks like try to enter Junktown or try to talk to Decker.

Is there anything I can do about this? What are my options? I guess maybe I could buy an 8 year old PC... :lol

Ever heard of compatibility modes? Just right click the executable. Doesnt help very often, but sometimes it does.

Eh, that's why you keep your old PC, or pick one up at a thrift shop.
Then get an old OS, a KVM (keyboard/video/mouse switch), and you're set.

At least, that's one way to do it. You can check Ebay for a very small older PC,
if space is an issue.

I'm not sure why you're having problems. Fallout 1 and 2 both ran great on my PC, aside from the standard bugs the game always had.
