If you enjoyed the first one, then you'll be disappointed with Tranporter 2.

That's definitely true. Wow, they took all the charm and wit of the original and flushed it right down the toilet for a cookie cutter, hollywood action flick that we've all seen a thousand times before. Complete with extremely bad acting by the boy's parents, generic comic relief moments (drunk in alley, jamaican cabbie) and a weak sauce plot. Gone are the upbeat music tempos which played off of the over the top scenes of the original, which made you realize that you're supposed to be smiling at the craziness on screen. It's replaced with an attempt to make it all seem real and gritty with standard orchestration or no music at all, but it doesn't work because the substance is so over the top. And hell, Frank does zero transporting in this film unless you count him dropping the kid off at the beginning. I'll give it one + for the fire hose scene, but the rest of it I found to be very disappointing.

I enjoyed it but its a different movie then first that's for sure. A friend of mine and myself had an in joke since we saw The Core where the following happens-
"Did you see that ! they just landed the space shuttle in the los angelos river... that's exciting!!"

Basically Transporter 2 has that for nearly its entire running time. The film tries to make each succesive action sequence more ridiculous then the one previous but it's still entertaining, just far more obviously tongue and cheek then the first one was.

Just got back from it, pretty disappointed. The action scenes were good, but you fucking saw most of the good parts in the god damn trailer. I can't think of one good action scene that wasn't in the trailer. The plot was retarded, but that's fine, because it's the Transporter. Just disappointed that there wasn't much when it came to surprises in the fighting/driving. Not enough driving scenes either. Fight scenes were good, but I dunno. The movie just felt amateurish.

Easily the coolest part of the movie was that continuous shot of them rumbling in the plane while it's spinning.

Also, what the fuck was with all the crotch shots??

*Possible Spoiler Alert*

Top 5 ridiculous moments in Transporter 2...

5. Hooker on the point Fly swat fight sequence
4. Breathe On You Virus
3. WaveRace BS Tricky Extreme
2. Rhythmic Gymnastic Triple Salchow Jet
1. Hook Line Boom

This movie was like watching a videogame. Infact the whole movie was one big ass QTE! Maybe it was me? Maybe the sweet tarts I was chewing on were actually ecstasy pills. Cause I did see a giant A button appear on screen and the only way you could activate it was by clapping furousciously like a retarded chimp. This drug overdose carried over when I went to see the Sound of Thunder. I thought I saw Baboon lizards in that one. I need detox!

Yeah, I got them all on a DVD from BMW a few years back. I love the one with Adriana Lima, the music in that one is so beautiful, but they're all really good.

It will run you about $5, unless you own a BMW, then it's free.

if any Clive Owen fan does not have this disc, they had better get it now. Probably my favorite DVD. My only question is why did David Fincher inspire these short films and then never direct one?

AS for the Transporter, all of the commercials made me think of an English Jackie Chan as far as the stunts go. Jason Statham rocks, love him in Snatch and Lock Stock. Need to see more of his movies (plus he needs to get into more movies).

fucking awesome. i just wish i never saw the firehose scene before hand.

statham with the metal pipe + the fire hose was one of the coolest things i've ever seen in a movie.

so ridiculous it was fucking awesome. they better make a 3rd one.
i also loved the lack of any love story. good times.

The movie has a modest budget and it looks like it will make around $17 million it's opening weekend, a 3rd one is practically in the bag at least financially. But they have to get Cory Yuen back in the directors seat, the man can do awesome fights sequences already as evidenced in both films, but his pacing was much better in part one then the new guy and not as over the top in action sequences, though I loved the lack of no love story in the second film.
