I just finished it. God damn, it was good. I didn't love everything about it, but it really took ahold of me close to the end. Without spoiling it, I thought it gave more depth to the Punisher then I've seen before. I don't know if I agree with everything Born said about The Punisher, some of his decisions in it seem contrary to his character that has been built up. I didn't enjoy the social commentary so much, although I expected it. Rather then that, I would have preferred to see Frank and more of his "conversations".
All that aside, I thought it was a really interesting take on The Punisher's origins. The inner monologues/conversations both main characters had were interesting, especially Frank's. I also thought the artwork at the finale was just top notch, not just the colors, but the sense of emotion on the characters faces. Awesome stuff.
The climax also did a great job of showing the Punisher in full force, just terrific action. I could say more about that moment in particular, because it wasn't just blood and guts...but I don't want to spoil it. Anyhow, I was pleasently surprised by Born.
