Anybody using the new Microsoft Edge browser?

Just curious. I've been pleasantly surprised!
It's chromium-based, it's fast and it seems secure.

I'll use it instead of Safari for a while and see how much it drains my battery. Haven't noticed any ram problems so far. Chrome is freaking hungry but this one seems ok.

Do you enjoy it, GAF?

I've been using it. It feels a bit quicker than chrome. I mainly use it for my bing points

The January chromium update is supposed to be a lot better, but it's still probably my 3rd choice after Firefox.

Chrome is my go to because I'm familiar with a lot of the keyboard shortcuts.

Does edge automatically update to this version or do you need to opt in for it?
From what I see you have to manually download it. I haven’t seen a PC come with it preloaded. I think it may be due to the current build most PC’s have of Windows 10. Most of time you have to manually get them to 1909, which still doesn’t have the new Chromium-based Edge.

Just got an automatic update that restarted my computer, installed this shit, forcibly opened it upon logging on, and pinned it to my taskbar.

Instant uninstall. Fuck that shit.

been using chrome for over a decade but on android they fucking removed the bottom bar navigation (completely baffling as phones have only gotten taller). so i just got fed up and tried Brave browser and holy shit its definitely worth moving to. Like the new Edge browser it's based on Chromium so it feels identical to Chrome but has bottom bar navigation but also feels a tad faster, doesn't feed your data to google and you can easily import from chrome and can use chrome extensions.

also "reopen closed tab" is where it should belong even Edge knows this.

They attempted to force it on all of my accounts on my computer. It was open on log in on all accounts and they only way to avoid interacting with it was through closing it on the task manager, absolute joke.

I also didn't ask for it to be pinned to my taskbar or for the desktop icon.

Still using Opera GX. The day they add a Spotify thing to the side bar is the day I will be the happiest boy browsing the web.

I tried it on Win10, but the scrolling wasn’t as smooth as Firefox and I have so many years of being used to the keyboard shortcuts.

Been using it for a while. It does its job good enough. Only pet peeve is that when opening images, they sometimes fill the window instead of showing their original size.

Anyone know how to turn this off? Googling it didn't help.

Edge is great but it has three little annoying things that stops me from switching.
1. No speed dial.
2. If you close the last opened tab the whole browser closes.
3. No portable mode.

Yes I know there are addons for all three points that fixes it but I don't want to bload the browser with hundreds of addons.

PS. I use Vivaldi right now.

Switched from Chrome because it was a fucking memory hog. Edge is running much quicker and I don't mind it.

And there is 4th annoying thing:
4. Microsoft is shoveling edge into your throat as soon as you install Windows 10.

Firefox user since 2.x. Although the lack of polish these days makes me want to switch, theres still not enough reason to do that.
Edge. That's the browser I use to download Firefox.

After years with Opera I shifted to Vivaldi.
Edge looks really great but it will be default option to everybody in my family that uses the notebook so I have Vivaldi there to my own use.

Few days yet but I'm really liking it.

PS. Firefox is not a good option with all what Mozilla does... I did not like Brave... the others option was Ungoogled Chromium but I ended with the ex-Opera developers Vivaldi.

seems decent, stable. Wish it had the transparency/fluent design element back on the tab bar. Needs more fluent design/transparency/aero effects.

Firefox on Windows, Safari on Mac.

No Chromium for me.

Firefox for me.

Firefox for me and i loath the possibility that something will force me to change in the future.

Firefox die hard here also

Take it from my cold dead hands

Why firefox?

Edge has been my main browser for years. The only thing I use Chrome for anymore is my masters classes because they require it. But with Rewards integration and pretty easy navigation I find it a great browser.
