It was on last night at 10pm on NBC. Talked about how the show first came about, and the characters. What's even more amazing is that Kramer is actually based on Larry David's neighbor. His name was Kenny Kramer. Also, it seems like Jerry's personality on the show reflected his personality in real life. I even remember going to see his stand up last year, and he would talk about his personality being the same as in the show.

P.S. The Seinfeld cast will be on Oprah on Monday. We all know the question Oprah will ask: will they do another episode/season?

I thought everyone knew this.

I thought everyone knew the Kramer fact as well.

They showed it several hours ago in Australia, now running off with a Seinfeld marathon; 8:30pm till 6:00am. Pure nuts, only 3 more hours to go till I finish it all :p

Heh. I'm a huge Seinfeld fan. Watched every season more than I can count. I've read in the past about his personality reflecting his show, but I didn't know it was really true until I saw his stand up. The thing about Kramer I didn't know about. =\

Musashi Wins!

FLAWLESS VICTOLY!
It was pretty good. Made me nostalgic for the show too, though it's one of the few re-runs I will search out to watch on television. It makes sense to me why I like Curb Your Enthusiasm so much.

Seinfeld is one of the best shows of all time, but this special really sucked last night. They spent maybe 15 minutes talking about the show and the other 29 showing clips. Clip shows are so boring, especially when all the clips show up every day on the sindicated episodes.

Don't bet on another episode or season. Julia and Jason will never sign on, not unless they get an amount of money even close to what Jerry gets, and that will never happen. I'm surprised they got them to do this special.

The DVD sets rock. It's what the show last night and the Oprah show is promoting, after all.

These interviews are on the sets, but broken down on each disc and episode. There's a 'play all' option for the interviews though, which is nice.

I found it very informative. I'm not a very big fan of the show. I think everyone on the show is funny but Jerry. The way he talked last night seemed very awkward. Has he done anything since the end of the series?

Sat on his huge pile of cash which keeps growing due to dyndication. Also, the occasional stand-up show (though not arena size ones).

Haha, you too? I must say I'm both surprised and disturbed at myself for actually enduring nearly the whole fucking marathon. I love the show of course and it was worthwhile in rekindling my appreciation seeing how I've not watched an episode in months and months. I was even fortunate to adventure with my dog for a walk around 6:20 am, I've never done that... nothing quite like the opening flames of a sunrise. Very sleepy now though...

After watching CYE.. it seems like Larry David was a much bigger influence on "Seinfeld" than Jerry.

Not really... He's done a few late night interviews and stand-up stuff. After the show ended in '96 he did this in '98:

It's funny stuff, but it's all old material... especially if you've watched his show. The "Q&A" is really funny stuff, though.

He also did a documentary in 2002:

I haven't seen it, but will probably rent it soon. Here's a short review:

If you see Comedian expecting a concert film with Jerry Seinfeld, you'll be disappointed. But if you're looking for an incisive--almost surgical--examination of the psyche of a stand-up comedian, this is your movie. Comedian zigzags back and forth between the hugely successful Seinfeld, who's trying to get back to his stand-up roots by developing an entirely new act, and an unknown comic named Orny Adams, whose naked craving for success is almost painful to behold. Adams lays bare his ego to an embarrassing degree; Seinfeld is more subtle but just as revealing about the fears and anxieties that drive him to go back on stage. By following these two through comedy clubs, festivals, and spots on David Letterman's talk show, the documentary cunningly explores how jokes are put together, the in-the-trenches camaraderie (tinged with competition) of stand-ups, and the sheer existential terror of trying to make people laugh. --Bret Fetzer

I agree about there being to many clips, I've seen those and will see them again no doubt again in syndication or on DVD. The rest of the show was good, it amazes me how relaxed and effortless Jerry comes off as, the part where he talks about how the season premiere was delayed becuase of the breakings news from the president, he's just like <shrug> ok we'll be on another day. :lol
