It was fun in the beginning with The Real World and it was even a little cool with Murder in Small Town X, BUT in my opinion, it's lost it's charm.

NO THANKS. I don't want another season of who 'wants to marry <insert buffoonery title here>' or 'beat the other team by out-eatting them in worms so you can win <insert status symbol here>'.

For crying out loud, just go back to the cheesey scripted sitcoms of the late 80's and 90's!

Personally, I just hate the dating/romance reality shows (although I should be shot for actually liking "The Player" on UPN. :p)

Seriously though, what on tv do you like? imo reality tv is 100 times better than sitcoms.

I honestly have a hard time enjoying ANY tv these days.

However, Survivor and The Apprentice are both addicting.

Indeed. This stuff sucked even before it was a major trend.

sure there's too much but there are moments. like tonite. flava-flav and red sonja gettin' heated in the jacuzzi. that's nice mr. f

You know, I really don't care anymore. I, too, dislike the dating/romance themed ones, but the rest just don't bother me at all anymore. Hell, I like some of them. I suppose that reality tv has been around so long that its presence just doesn't piss me off like it used to. Of course I wish TV execs would try something more creative, but when you see that all they're willing to develop other than crappy reality tv is even crappier new sitcoms, then you see there isn't much hope, anyway. Anyway, its kind of passe to be complaining about reality tv these days.

Indeed...though as I've always said, if they stopped making this shit they'd replace it with new shit that stinks even more. Sports is pretty much the only thing worth watching these days, outside of JLU and a handful of other shows.

It was cool when it was only The Real World, and even then it was only cool for the first two seasons. Now it just sucks.

I hate reality TV now, but then I watch something like What I Like About You and realize dumb TV sitcom really is far worse than Reality TV. Though sometimes it's a back and forth battle for stupidity. When Reality TV became predictable is when I lost interest.

Yep...I could wish for them to go away, but even I could afford to make one of these shows.

Just need a few smart ones to show up...a few more shows like The Apprentice that has both intelligence and a real sense of competition would be nice.

I really only give anything that's not a big season long contest at shot, and from there anything that's not a silly spin on some main stream celebrity of B celebrity, and even then nothing made that's just there to watch people bitch.

I do like your little make over shows, and TLC's home renovation shows, and the Wedding/Baby Story (That's real reality, damn it) but that's it. I'll take my scripted dramas and comedies and move on. Actually, majority of the stuff I enjoy watching is decades old. So there ya go.

I find little time to watch TV. As far as the Reality TV thing, I didn't buy into it too much with The Real World, and I sure as hell don't now.

And I've always hated Survivor since I find it very misleading.

To me, a TV show called Survivor should feature 20 men tossed on an island with 20 sniper rifles, each with 20 bullets. Who is the Survivor. This I would watch.

Instead, "Survivor" is just a popularity contest in the middle of nowhere. Pointless.

My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance was just aired in my country and I have to admit that I thoroughly enjoyed the series.
Anyway, Fear Factor & The Amazing Race >> Any other reality series

Shouldn't they have 19 bullets?

The only reality show I'll watch on a consistent basis is Survivor. I really like the dynamics of the show. I also haven't minded a few of those one-time reality programs like Joe Millionaire (I know there was a 2), BFO Fiance and Paradise Hotel (don't hate me). I watched some of Surreal Life's first season and most of the 2nd (I liked the latter). I've also caught Fear Factor a few times and had some laughs.

Everything else is bullshit I won't turn on even for the curiousity factor (since there is none).

What if a contestant wants to just end himself for being stuck in a miserable reality-tv show? :p

And I suppose, technically, you could give everyone just one bullet each and it'd work out. Hit or be hit. Get more ammo from your kills. Missing your enemy would ensure drama, since you'd have to either batter someone for another bullet or be a walking target.

I don't know what's worse: the people who are willing to de-base themselves all in the name of fame or fortune on these shows, or the millions of people that find such shit entertainment.

I don't mind reality TV that much (since I don't often watch TV anyway), but what I DO hate is how networks try to make the winners of the shows instant celebrities or something. Most of them aren't interesting enough that I need to see their face on commercials 30 times a day, on cereal boxes, hawking clothes, etc.

Oh man I forgot all about Murder in Small Town X... I don't think I watched it to completion but I did see a few eps... thought it was pretty cool.

On a whole I don't much watch much TV anyway so it can all go down the drain as far as I'm concerned... as long as I have my sports, my movies, and my VG's.. I'm good to go.

That's basically how I feel. I tend to like the more competition oriented ones, and the ones that involve forcing people to live with one another since crazy things usually happen during it. My favorite recent one is the new season of the Surreal Life. The show has been on for 2 eps and Flava Flav is already in bed with Brigitte Nielsen. The show is hilarious just because of him.

The only reality show I really liked was USA's Combat Missions, where they took teams of US special forces and put them through mock combat to see who was the best. And it was awesome because it was based on actual competition, no popularity, or dumb "mini games". Just soldiers and SWAT officers competing to see who really is the best at what they do.

You know what they should do? Throw twenty white guys into the middle of Compton or Harlem, and see if they last the week (that's about as long as it would last before they're all gone). Survivor: Harlem Nights...now that I would watch.

Don't like the artificial romance stuff, but reality tv >>> * because it's unscripted. Sure the producers can influence chains of events, but it's all unpredictable because people are unpredictable.

Long live Survivor!

i don't care for reality television (especially the new ones like Casino or the Restaurant that are so obviously scripted it hurts) but what is the alternative? Instead we'd just get more lame, cliched, piece of shit sitcoms starring Jim Belushi or some shit. TV in general sucks. Unless its HBO or FX, i'll just stick to watching reruns of GOOD shit.
