Anyone ever done clinical testing?

I'm looking at doing a 9-Day inpatient trial. I'm a little apprehensive, but I'm not sure what the trial would involve (pills, injections, whatever). They'll tell me what it involves and all that before I sign up for it, but I can't get ahold of the guy right now. I've been looking for a job, and I have to wait for some places to get back to me. In the mean time, I need $300 in rent by the end of the month. I figure $1400 in 9 days is tough to beat for filling out some forms, taking some pills, getting some x-rays, and laying in bed or walking around a hospital. Have any of you done something like this?

I've done it in college. It was some good money but, once I started thinking the idea made me squimish. I wouldn't do it again.

I have done it before, and just let me tell you, we had a BLAST. So much fun.

Me and 2 friends did it, along with a bunch of random strangers. I brought my N64 and all we did was watch movies, play goldeneye, and play that damn wrestling game, all the while eating take-out from a local restaurant. It was a lot of fun.

Each morning they'd give us pills (they give you info on what you're taking, if you care to have a doctor look over it beforehand - I did), and take our blood at random times. Not much more than that.

I'd do it again if I ever needed the money.

Thank you! I planned on bringing my Gamecube and playing lots of Puyo Pop Fever. Sound cool.

Not all clinical tests are frat parties.

You might have a limited diet, very uncomfortable side effects, and some pretty humiliating exams.

For some, I suppose $1,400.00 might be enough compensation for impotence, shitting in a dish, and having fingers up your ass three times a day.

Make sure that you get paid as much as the other test subjects at the other facilites. I remember an LA Times article where the Socal people got paid less than the Illinois (iirc) people in a Lilly antidepressant case. Also, it's kind of scary when they expect bad things to happen and are prepared to bring you back to life.
