I'm thinking that for a year or two after I get my college degree, I wanna join the peace corps or something. Or maybe teach abroad. Actually I'd really prefer to go to a non-engarish speaking country and teach that for a year or two.

Anybody have opinions on this type of thing? programs to use? how I should go about doing it?

I'd love advice, stories, warnings, etc about this kinda stuff...

Do not teach anywhere without a work visa. I repeat - if you do not like foreign prisons, being deported, or harrased by federal popo, get the fucking work visa.

somebody give me a fucking house.

My sister works here in Dubai. She teaches primary school. She doesnt get paid a great deal but thats because she works at a small schools and there are a few other complications, but teachers are quite well off here. The pay can vary though depending on where you're from. If you come from Western countries the pay can be very good, at some schools you can get paid 12000 dhs, which is about $3200 accomodation, travel money, a car and fuel, but fuel here is so cheap so it doesnt make a difference. There are loads of different schools as well. I go to one of many British curricular schools, but there are a lot of american schools, arabic schoolsm indian schools, fench schools and quite a few others. Not only that but Dubai is an incredible place, its really really nice and there are so many people from so many different cultures its great. Even though its an Arabic country, there are actually more English people living their than the local people.
