Been pondering this for awhile, because I hate having wavy hair. Just wondered if anyone had any tips/advice in relation to hair straightener.

I was going to use it for when i got my hair long again, if i ever did. Its good stuff but hard to get off of after you start using it. Your hair will go crazy when you stop using it. Just make sure you keep your hair cut well each week by cutting a littel of the ends. Thats where it tends to show after a week or two.

You can try getting a japanese straight perm/thermal reconditioning. I think that's what it's call? Completely straightens your hair for 6-9 months.

I've used a chemical straightener before...I wouldn't recommend it unless your hair is really curly. It causes a lot of breakage. I didn't like how my hair was after using it. I stick to a hand/heat straightener now. Works like a charm.

I get my hair relaxed(straightened) by my hair-dresser every few months. It makes your hair totally hot.

Flat-irons just burn your hair and make it frizzy if you have curly hair.

True on both counts. I suppose as long as your conditioner is strong enough, the chemicals shouldn't be a problem.

Even if your hair is fairly straight, it might not hurt to get it straightened anyways. If you have a specific hair style in mind, and you don't like a stray curl here or there, a hair straightener can fix it up. It can help you get a clean haircut when globs of hair styler won't cut it.

I've grown my hair longer than it's ever been since I was in Grade 9, and am now finding that it curls/gets wavy near the end at the front. What measures could be taken to get it completely straight?

I'd say go to Target or something similar and buy a straightener (flat iron). They're not very expensive and they're very effective, especially if your hair is not too out of control. It'll be in the same aisle as the curlers and electric razors and electric toothbrushes, I think.
