Anyone feel differently about their Switch Pre-Order weeks later?

I'm keeping mine, but it's not because I'm in love with the hardware. I'm a Nintendo fanboy and I've been looking forward to BotW for so long, I just want to play it in the best possible light.

I have been excited for this thing since October of last year. Got more excited this month during the presentation. Cannot wait for March 3rd. The only thing it has done to me is make me reconsider my purchase of the Xbox One S last year. I got it hoping to have fun with Gears 4 and Forza Horizon 3. The games aren't terrible, but I just don't seem to be getting enjoyment out of it like I do my PS4 or I did with my 360.

Get more and more excited by the day. The current "game chart" image that's floating around shows that I'll have zero problem having games to play for the rest of the year.

As someone who travels for work quite a bit, I can't fucking wait. This thing is built for me.

Still excited, though I think VC will make or break it for me, ultimately. Really looking forward to Mario Odyssey, so I'll keep it for now.

I have a few, and think I am, going to cancel them all and wait until holidays. I have 100+ game backlog on PS4, and another 50+ on PS3. Would rather free up that Switch for someone who really wants one at launch.

I think the accessory pricing is ridiculous but perhaps the technology justifies it. It is kind of one of those things that can only be examined once it is out of the box and being used.

Regardless, Zelda on the go (mostly in my bed) will be glorious and worth it.

I put $50 down for the neon SKU the day after the event. While the mismatched color-scheme was meant for me, this weekend someone was selling old nintendo games on craigslist and my only liquid asset was the switch preorder; cant pass up local retro games. System looks cool, but removed from the preorder zeightgeist, id feel silly if the promise of more heroes X or mario in 2017 carried me to a midnight launch. Ill be kicking myself if these things are hard to get. Hoping for a splatoon bundle with green and pink joy-cons. Id buy that with no announced games.

No, I feel the same, I went in fully knowing both the positives and negatives about the system.

The only think I haven't done yet is pre-order a Switch Pro controller. I figure I'll be able to get one on launch day, I have the system and Zelda pre-ordered, and when PS4 launched in 2013, I walked into GameStop hours earlier without a pre-order, had no trouble getting a console, so as far as the $70 Switch Pro controller, I'm not worried.

I hope Sega / M2 will support it with more Sega Classics,

I ordered one after the presentation and haven't really considered cancelling it since.

The usual drive-by shitposts in every Switch thread are actually strengthening my resolve if anything. None of the usual arguments against the Switch really make sense to me.

I've definitely warmed to it. I was initially disappointed with the details and the price but that emotion has cooled and I've since realised that even if it wasn't what I wanted it's still looking like a very worthwhile system.

I still have my pre-order, and I do want a Switch at some point, but I keep finding it harder and harder to justify getting one at launch. Part of me just wants to wait to see how things shake out.

I feel about the same as I did when I got it. It's going to be a Zelda machine at launch, a Splatoon machine until I have to start paying for online, and then a random 1st party Nintendo machine thereafter. I already knew the online was probably going to be crap because it's Nintendo and they always manage to fuck that up somehow, but I wasn't buying it with that in mind.

Not at all. I'm as excited for Zelda at launch and the slate of announced games for this year as I was when they announced. Nintendo will do bizarre shit that rubs people up the wrong way but for me and the way I play, especially with my family, they are gold every time. No doubts the switch will dominate our time from launch to years end. I appreciate they are making moves that are polar opposite to the average gaffer's wants though, and some will have cooled off as a result.

I buy all consoles so I am going keep the preordered, but buying for only 1 game (Zelda) and the next one (Mario) many months later, doesn't seem like a wise choice.

I was always buying it to play Zelda at launch and to have ready when more games came out.

But then Puyo Tetris was announced so I'm giddy for it.

I've been losing a lot of interest and if it ends up being scarce at launch I may just craigslist mine and (hopefully) buy a Mario bundle for $300 this fall. After I beat Zelda it'd probably be collecting dust until then anyways.

As excited as I am for Breath of the Wild, I am almost just as pumped to play Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth +

I've played the heck out of Rebirth on both the Wii U and 3DS and luckily know next to nothing about what Afterbirth and Afterbirth + have to offer.

I have a PS4, so I could play it now, but I'm excited to play on the go, at home, and have my progress stay the same.

I actually wrote an article on it (if I'm not allowed to post this let me know and I'll edit it out). http://lazyshell.com/index.php/2017...g-of-isaac-afterbirth-save-the-switch-launch/

I have it pre-ordered, and am awaiting information on the particulars of Virtual Console. If we get to the end of February and they either haven't said anything or what I need out of the program isn't present, I'll buy a Switch in a year or two when all the games I actually want are already out.

This is exactly where I'm at. And the fact that we don't have the information yet makes me nervous :(

While I didn't preorder, I went from full to zero hype pretty quickly. After the buzz faded, I realized the only game I really want to play on it is Zelda, and I already have a Wii U for that. My gut tells me we'll be waiting until 2018 for Mario. Nothing else is all that exciting right now. Hopefully a year from now, my opinion will be completely different and I'll be excited to get one. I kinda did the same with the Wii U. I bought one when the WWHD version came out, and at that time, there were enough titles I was interested in to make the system purchase worth it.

When it was revealed, I was sure I wouldn't order one until Mario Odyssey. Pre-order was out of the question. The more I heard user stories about the HD Rumble and the portable screen, the more I wanted one.

I've now preordered one, with Zelda. I really want ARMS and Snipperclips as well. Will finally decide this weekend, when I'll test the Switch myself.

I'm unsure about MK8 Deluxe though, since I have MK8+DLC on the Wii U.

From 0 to 10 I was 5 before the first presentation, then 8 after it, then 4 after the price reveal, now I am back to 8. I really want to have one at some point.

The launch lineup and game drought right after doesn't really bode much confidence, I feel.

But for many this thing will just be a Zelda machine for the first few months, and to them that's worth the price of admission.

Nope. Went from hyped to convinced. And now the wait is killing me.

Was hyped :
- it's Nintendo and I like their games
- chances are high that Switch gets most of the 3DS sequels from JP 3rd parties will be awesome
- concept is very nice and even more for me now that I don't have a lot of time for TV Gaming sessions.

Tried it:
- MK 8 and Splatoon 2 were awesome
- Arms was a good surprise (better than I expected, may be a Splatoon like surprise for me if they add some content)
- SniperClips and Bomberman R were also very fun to play
- HW is cool with a great feel and neon colors are awesome
- concept is really cool indeed and there's plenty of possibilities.

So yeah, I just can't wait ^^
Devs, please have balls and try new creative things !

I'm on the fence. I preordered Wii U and got burned. So, I have a preorder but the longer this silence goes without announcing the virtual console and online specifics I get nervous.

The launch lineup is already extremely disappointing. I've never seen a modern system launch without a sports game. Third party support is barren at best.

Bomberman is awesome, but maybe not $50 awesome.

Everything hinges on the Feb Direct. Maybe they will announce more details and a few other games as well.

I played the Switch and a number of games this past Saturday. And honestly, I feel like cancelling my preorder. I don't see myself playing the system off-tv, and I really wasn't impressed by the graphics, especially for Zelda. I own a Wii U so I've already played Splatoon and Mario Kart which both felt like the exact same games. The only game that impressed me is Arms. Playing Zelda on Wii U and then buying the Switch when there is some sort of bundle or deal later this year makes much more sense.

I pre-ordered straight away but have decided to cancel because I cannot justify spending £300+ for Zelda, especially when I have a Wii-U.

I would have gone for it anway if it had been a quiet month, but I have Horizon, Zelda (Wii U), Nier and Mass Effect. Games are priority to me so I cannot afford to invest in the switch until I'm sure it will get its consistent use. I'll pick it up when XC 2 comes out.

Edit: plus the months after including Persona 5, Dirt 4 etc. This year is going to be truly incredible.

I've never cooled on it I am still excited but it has been a bummer seeing so many people missing out on it and the high cost of extras. However since I skipped the wiiu I am hoping the go back and port some the best games.

Well yeah, Nier Automata, Persona 5, Fractured but Whole, Yooka Laylee...

Switch is a graveyard for me though. I already own a Wii U and won't double-dip on ports, and I have no interest in paying online fees for Splatoon 2.

Personally after Zelda i'm going to buy Bomberman, Snipperclips, Fast RMX, Shovel Knight, I Am Setsuna, Mario Kart 8D, Arms, PuyoPuyo Tetris, Disgaea 5, Splatoon 2, Sonic Mania and Fire Emblem Warriors. Maybe even Redout and Rime if they're good and run properly on Switch. We don't know the exact release dates so they can be after Mario but in 2017 i'm also looking forward to Stardew Valley, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Ultra Street Fighter, Wonderboy and the new Steaworld.

Point is, there are tons of great games coming out on Switch even before Mario.

On other platforms, all those you mentioned (although i'd prefer to buy Yooka Laylee on Switch) and probably others. Incredibly busy year for gaming, i wonder how i'm gonna fit all those games in my days lol.

No.

My asnwer comes down to if im going to buy it anyways, waiting who knows how long and saving myself a whopping 100 bucks isnt worth it.

Thats why i buy every system at launch. The trick is to not buy a bunch of crappy launch window games. Thats when you destroy your wallet for average gaming experiences.

I got it pre-ordered but I'm not that excited. The only game I'm interested is the new Zelda. I think the biggest strengths of the Switch (mobility, joycon controllers with HD rumble) are wasted on me because I prefer to play games on a TV with a regular controller. I'd never take the Switch out of the docking station so I'd spend money on hw features I'd never use. And I know there's going to be months of nothing until the next "must buy" title appears, since I'm not interested at all in Mario Kart or Splatoon.

It's just that I'm a sucker for new gadgets.

Not particularly. I guess that the more I've seen on ebay the more tempting it is to scalp it. The extra trade in credit from gamestop basically made it a $200 console in the first place so if I can sell it for $450 to $500 it would pretty much be a free console when I can pick one up off the shelves weeks or months later...

Yup same here, started out quite negative but eventually switched to being super-hyped. Just ordered a Pro controller and 200GB micro sd card too so now I'm ready! Can't wait!

Had doubts the day after I preordered due to letting the post conference negativity get to me a bit, but once the hands on impressions started to hit I got excited once again.

Can't wait!

Been hyped since preordering it and it hasn't changed one bit . If you didn't preorder and still on the fence just don't worry about it . Your not going to find one for a bit so you got time 😂

Hyped for Zelda only for the time being but realizing how much I miss console Nintendo games (last was GameCube) puts a bit of faith in my purchase.

I am paying almost nothing out of pocket after trade ins for the Switch so I feel just the same about preordering. In fact I feel better now because I would have missed out on the extra trade in value promo when I preordered and I know I would have caved and bought the system if I found it in a big box retailer launch morning.
