Anyone get Naruto 3 GC yet?

Lyte Edge

All I got for the Vernal Equinox was this stupid tag
I received my copy on Friday, but barely had a chance to check it out (too many damn releases this week!)

Just wondering what else is new in the game besides the 3-on-3 KOF style matches (and team supers) and some of the new characters. I see that the characters also have two supers each this time around too, and that Naruto can transform into the possessed fox version, Sasuke can use the Sharingon (sp) eye, etc.

Maybe I'll sink some time into it tonight and write some impressions then.

One thing is for certain: Just like with Naruto 2, Naruto 3 pretty much contains eveyrthing from the first two games, so you guys should sell off your Naruto 2 games while they still have some value. I sold mine off and used the cash to get Viewtiful Joe 2.

They're two completely different games! :)

Naruto on the PS2 is called "Narutimett Hero," and is developed on Cyber Connect, makers of the .Hack games, and published by Bandai. It's a 1-on-1 fighting game more similar to Smash Bros. than anything else. You run around large stages with different levels/planes and attack with more simplified controls. The game has very cinematic super moves that give you the feeling that you're watching an anime when you see them. It's fun for fans, but I never got into the PS2 games (I did get Narutimett Hero 2 but barely played it) since there really isn't that much game play to me.

Naruto on the GC is developed by Eighting, the makers of Bloody Roar, and published by Tomy. The game feels very much like Bloody Roar, only nowhere near as chaotic. You can also do counters, side step, and use special attacks in addition to normal attacks and combos. Each character has 2 supers each in Naruto 3, and some can transform as well. You can choose to play 1-on-1 or any combination with 4 players. This is the game's strongpoint; multiplayer works great and you can even make teams or do 3-on-1 matches. If the PS2 version had a 4P mode, it would be a much more fun game IMO.

I'll be getting it soon enough. :)

Out of gaming funds (pending MGS3 purchase tomorrow, probably), so I'll need other people to pick up the tab.

my roomate ordered it (the first import game me or any of my friends have ever gotten)

and I was surprised by how good it was. I mean, this is no top of the line 2D fighter. If me and my other fighter loving friend are gonna play a game we're gonna play GGXX or something. However I think I will find myself playing this game a lot simply because it appeals a lot more to the rest of my friends and the game is deep enough to hold my attention.

We played it for a good 8 hours or so yesterday with a break inbetween for some Halo 2. We mostly played 4 player FFA but took some time out to unlock some characters. We've almost beaten mission mode on whatever the default difficulty is and have bought all the characters that were available from that. By the end of the itme we started playing 1v1 with the thign where you pick 3 characters. Reminded me of all the time we spent playing CVS2. I liked tha tmode the most.

Only thing I really don't like is the team attacks. They do way WAY too much damage. I mean anyone's super does only like 10% damage and these team attacks got as high as 70% damage while we were playing. And its not any harder to land a team attack than a normal super.

I got it, played it for a day and was bored of it :\

It's not terrible, but it's just a rehash with a few new characters for another $60. Basically all the old characters are the same (the '2nd' super for most is just some useless air super that doesn't even look cool), the mission mode is pretty lame and the gameplay is pretty much unchanged.

The best thing I can say about it, is that the new characters are actually pretty unique and fun to play as instead of just being by the book characters. Shino can create good traps with the bugs, and Chouji is like the Zangeif of the game. Temari's long range but strong style is pretty good too.

New stages are good too, it's just too bad they are so few.

Still, having to start from scratch with like 10 characters and play through the game for hours and hours and hours to earn enough money to unlock everyone AGAIN is pretty lame and with all the good games out at the moment, I'm just not willing to spend the time with it. I think it's pretty retarded to add 9 characters (the whole reason for buying the game if you have 1 or 2) and then only give you 1 off the start and make a few of the 9 extremely expensive so it'll be a while until you actually get them.

Lastly, the character roster is just weak. A lot of new characters have been introduced in the anime storyline and fought since GNT2 and should've been added (Kabuto, Kisame, etc..) but instead they only added the major ones that for the most part could've been in GNT2. It's too bad Narutomite Hero 2 has such broken gameplay (near-infinite Kawarimi fucks it IMO) because the roster and supers of that game completely destroy GNT3 IMHO.

PS. Good job putting a guard breaker in there, but it takes way too long to break their guard. When Itachi can block for 10-20 secs straight without having his guard broken then there's not much point.

In GNT4 I want auto-block OFF option, quicker guard break, HI/LOW blocking and fix the 'back turned, you're screwed" issue. I like how they handle Kawarimi in this series and the supers are pretty balanced. They just need a few more steps to turn it into a 'real' fighting game, but as it is I think it will continue just being a light party game.

3x3 is pointless too >_<

We got this in Friday, sold out of it yesterday.

I didn't get it, I got beatmania IIDX 8th and the Pop'n Music 10 LE instead :)
