Anyone heard from Tommie Hustle?

Just curious, as he hasn't updated his blog or posted here for about a week. A little worrisome...

I've sent him an email, no response yet, though it wasn't like I sent it three days ago.
 
Hopefully Drensch or Socreges is right on this... just in case people don't know by now why I'd be posting this in the forum (would surprise me - he's pimped his blog plenty), Tom's in Iraq. So no, the "dead" comments aren't particularly funny.
 
I think it's more likely that he's lost his internet connection. Even if he was busy, he'd probably say something in his blog, if not on GAF.
 
Yeah, I haven't gotten any AIM messages from him of late either. Unfortunately I don't have any way to call him by voice.
 
Hey anyone heard anything yet? I'm getting a little concerned too. I really hope he's okay and all and it's just some work related problems (maybe he had to move?) or something. Any information would be good.
 
What was his real name? You could check the injuries and fatalities lists couldn't you? Hope he is okay.
 
i check icasualties.org every day and there has been no mention of any wounded or killed or missing contractors in the 'raq. so he's fine.
besides, isnt he like some sort of computer tech guy? so i'm sure he's hardly ever in the field. (though lots of FOB's get mortared every once in a while) but i dont think he'd be placed in an FOB, he's probably in a more rear area. but he hasnt been too forthcoming with details (for obvious reasons) of were he is at. (i suspect that he is near the green zone base or the fallujah province, not to be confused with the city of fallujah.) marines are in the fallujah area and that's who tommy comes into contact with. so the fallujah area would be my guess.

Yes, I have heard from Tommie Boy -he is safe and well folks, he had to go on a trip to get parts or something and said he wouldn't have access to a computer for about 2 weeks or so, so don't fret, he's okay and will be back soon enough!

:lol oh man... I find it kind of funny, but I do apologize.

I honestly had no idea who Tommie Hustle was before this thread, nor that he was in Iraq.. didn't know a damn thing about it. Was just posting to kill time while I was waiting for some Service Packs to finish updating while I was at work, and then I come back to find I'm banned, and notice the general concensus in the thread is that I'm a prick.

So... wrong thread, wrong time for me I guess. I apologize, even if I find the circumstances of my situation funny.

That's not fucking funny for the 80th time now. My grandmother just passed away last Sunday, so when I hear people joking about people being dead, it really hurts.

What if your grandmother had died ten years ago? Would his joke still have angered you?

Personally, I don't think joking about death is necessarily off-limits. The one in this thread was probably a bit tasteless but I certainly don't think death is completely off-limits.

If it was funny, then yes.

Listen, obviously when tragedy hits close to home, we're shell-shocked and in pain. With time, we can laugh at death. It's one of the ways that we deal with how horrible it is.

I have a question if a person has been legally dead before(like say me) is it ok to make fun of someones death? You know kinda like its ok for gay people to make fun ot other gay people or black to poke fun at other blacks.....just wondering.
 
Yeah I've been on business "travel" that will happen from time to time. Generally, when it does happen it's transparent to you all because I'm "here" and back before anyone notices.

I can't give out notices saying that I'll be gone for X amount of days or where I'm going. So there will be times when I just vanish. It's probably my fault for being so consistent. I called my parents for the first time in about 10 days and needless to say they were nervous wrecks.

Thanks to everyone who was concened about my safety. It means a lot especially figuring that there are people that I physically know that are supposed to be "friends" and they haven't emailed me since I've been out here. It's so telling really.
