Anyone here work at EB?

Can anyone tell me how their extended warranty works on VG hardware? I asked them last time I was there, but the person was really vague...

If it's defective, you take it back to the store. Assuming you're within the warranty, they'll swap it out for a new ...whatever. If the warranty was purchased within the last year, you can only return an item once. There are some older warranties that allowed you to swap an infinite amount of times within the period allotted, but I think they may be expired by now.

You should have the receipt, aka proof of warranty, when you go in, but if you don't, call ahead to the store and tell them what's going on. A copy should be on file somewhere, and they should be able to dig it up.

WHat if you get two lemon systems in a row? Are you fucked then? I understand that they don't people abusing the exchange policy...but one swap per warranty is BS IMO.

Well, if it doesn't work out of the box either time, you'll be able to go back and get it swapped without that counting against you.

If your second system breaks six months in though, c'est la vie. You got six more months out of that cash than if you hadn't bought the warranty.

Well as long as it covers it out of the box, without penalizing you for it...it's not so bad. One last question, if i were to go swap the system for a new one...do they test it out or just give you a new no questions asked?

They don't test it, but they'll probably ask what's wrong.

But if you're thinking about swapping a PS2 for a PStwo, well, make sure they don't have ANY new or refurbished PS2s in stock first, because they'll try to stick you with that instead.

Nah, I'm buying a PSTwo. The thing is, after 1 year if the system is still working well...might as well swap it out for a fresh one before the warranty ends.
