Anyone remember this game ? Despite its flaws, the action was pretty nice !

Yes, it's an action RPG... but it has COMBOS...

toss in a fireball, charge attack, slice, dice, finishing combo... it was pretty sweet.

Anything like this out there ?

Thanks !

I remember seeing pictures of this game in mags...mainly ads for it...and always thinking how ugly everything about it looked

back then I despised RPGs with a passion...so I never did try it...bet I would like it if I tried it now, though

a diablo ripoff with combos does sound nice

anyway...try Nox...not on the same level as Diablo II (but then again...) yet still a fun game...just don't expect anything out of the multiplayer mode...it is beyond shit

Nox, being the very first RPG that I enjoyed playing, is special to me...just wish I could find my fucking second disc so I can play it again >_<

RIP Westwood

Tried Nox, but it was a little too much like Diablo to me. Click click click click click click, what about different kinds of attacks other than ye olde trusty "SLASH WITH WEAPON" ?

There must be some other action RPGs with custom combos that you learn over time, other than Devil May Cry 3 ?

Dont get me wrong... DMC3 is tha biznomb...

but I'm looking for something maybe a little more RPGish... more equipment and treasure collection, etc...

but with some of that open up with the fireball, leap in with the slash, thwack, thwack, finishing combo (Revenant had great killing combos years before God of War... i.e. crushing the spider torso with a heelboot, stuff like that...)

Any suggestions ?

Thanks !

Honestly, there aren't many games like Revenant. The only one that really sticks out that is also RPG-ish and has combos you can make yourself would be Sudeki (for Xbox and PC, PC copy is difficult to find though). The game itself isn't that great (then again I haven't played much, only the first part) but the combat system is probably similar to what you're looking for.

Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks also has a robust combo system, but it is more of an action game (it does have RPG elements though, like being able to upgrade your moves, but there's no inventories/potions/armor)

X-men legends 1 and 2 are also similar to Shaolin Monks with a decent combat system, and being able to upgrade your character.

That's really I can come up with for now, hope that helps :)

Still have a boxed copy. Was decent, not great.

One of the appeals (to me) was the type of finishing moves that you could perform on certain monsters with certain weapons. Sort of a Mortal Kombat appeal I guess.
Combat doesn't play out quite like Diablo; I remember playing with a gamepad.

I figured I simply wasn't schooled enough in the latest game releases, and that there was something out there like it.

Maybe there just isn't much out there with the RPG elements and on-the-fly combo system (spells and melee attacks).

It's surprising, because it had such a fun combat system that was cool to upgrade (with that crazy asian monk) and pretty fluid to perform.

Also, the main character was a prick. Which is always a bonus :)
