Anyone still watch that little show called Westworld?

I watched the first season. It was confusing as fuck but I stuck with it. Didn't get past the first episode of Season 2.

The film is a masterpiece.

In essence, you have a combination of Terminator and of course Jurassic Park (Michael Crichton and his forever love regarding theme parks that turn to shit!) 😂

Season 1: Good.
Season 2: Only good when Maeve was in it.
Season 3: Managed to watch twenty minutes of it, but it seemed awful. Just boring introspective self-indulgent tripe.
Season 4: Who cares.

One of my wife's friends is always telling me to watch it, we have similar tastes. I need a new show so I will be starting at S1 E1.

Season 1 was a brilliant start and ending that plodded in the middle, and I couldn’t make it through season 2. Totally lost interest.

Loved S1. Thought S2 was decent. But S3… personally I feel a show hasn’t soiled the bed this much since Altered Carbon S2
Altered carbon hurt, but I guess losing your lead actor will do that.

As for west world, yeah season 1 was good. I sailed the seven seas for season 2 and accidentally watched the finale first so I didn’t bother with the rest. 3 was bad and I didn’t bother finishing. Not interested in the new season at all.

Not as good, no. That was never going to happen. But it’s a far tighter and better focused storyline in season 4. A shame they had such a dip in 2 and 3.
Yeah this is the first time since season 1 that I feel like I know what is going on. There is still plenty that is confusing, but the general plot is actually followable.

Enjoyed the first season a lot, but felt zero desire to continue. Never felt anything left on the table after season one was worth spending more time on.

Luckily the first season works as a self contained story.

The same can be pretty much said for the first season of Game of Thrones.

S4 has been surprisingly decent so far.

So is anyone watching the fourth season and can tell us if it's not complete garbage?

It's not nearly as good as S1 but it's much better (so far) than S3. Probably around the quality of S2 (which was a big step down but was ultimately still enjoyable IMO)

I would rather watch a show about a super complex theme park going bad. I liked the idea of the different eras of parks, like prohibition and feudal Japan. I think it would be cool to have things go wrong in a Roman them park or Ancient Babylon park.

Glad I bailed after season 1, I heard S4 finale was terrible lmao. The ratings are complete garbage now so who knows if it will even have a S5.

i gave up halfway into S3 cuz the show jumped the shark. The writing was so inconsistent, with characters getting plot armors or becoming stupid because the plot dictates them so. They should've kept the story within the parks.

Well I’ll be damned, Season 4 was actually really good, binged through it in a couple of days. It returned to the mystery box mechanic and select high impact twists of Season 1. It had character arches that you could follow again. And really cool settings. And ample screen time for Eval Rachel Wood, god she's gorgeous.

Agreed, season 4 was a return to form. Caleb's arc and twist was especially awesome, which is amazing to say because I fucking hated his addition to the show in season 3.

It's a shame that the show has lost so much popularity though, doubt we'll even get a season 5 at this point.

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
I stopped halfway into S3.
S1 is good.
S2 expanded into other parks but the problem is that the writers tried too hard to outdo S1 in terms of twists so the story became a mess.
I still can't get over the stupidity of the Delos security. Hey, let's charge into a fort without any seige weapons. That'll show them!
S3 takes place in the real world. It's no longer about the parks. It feels like a different show tbh.
This, been meaning to get back into it but..meh
