so i figured instead of having to reburn CDs everytime i add songs to my collection it'd be better to burn to CDRW instead of CDRs. It works but the trouble is it only works when burned at music and not data therefore i can only fit 10-16 songs onto a CDRW rather than the 200+ of a CDR. I'm using Nero to burn. When I burned as data to the CDRW it wouldnt read anything.

Is there any way to fit tons of mp3s onto a CDRW and have it actually play?

I don't know of any 'standard install' car stereos that understand MP3. There are some aftermarket ones however.

$50/hour, but no kissing on the lips and colors must be pre-separated
It varies from in-dash to in-dash. Some work fine with CD-RWs and some are kind of tricky. You may want to try some other brands. I know HP ones work fine with my Clarion when I dump MP3s on them.

phoenx, i was referring to players that DO play MP3s. Ted i may just try HPs. I remember i had the same issue with using CDRWs to port music to the xbox. some would read, some just wouldnt.

It has more to do with your head unit than the media. My Pioneer plays everything under the sun, I fucking hate CDRWs though so I just do multisession CDRs until they fill up.

I bought a JVC one for my wifes car. Works fine with CDR or CDRW. Also really easy to navigate, and you can shortcut to albums 1-6 by using the radio preset keys.

But yeah, depends on the head unit. Most mp3 head units should play CDRW these days.

Our 2005 Mini's OEM CD player understands MP3s. It came in very handy on the trip we just returned from. :) I haven't tried CDRWs though.

I have a factory-installed radio in my Saturn that plays MP3s, and it is great - but only with CDRs. CDRWs simply don't work. In fact, it even says to use CDRs in the owner's manual.

it works for the most part happy with the performance... some issues imo is that it only FF's mp3's by 3 seconds. I've have had a HUGE amount of white noise @ times but it comes back... so far.
CDRW seemed to work fine
