This Junior Lightweight boxing fight's in Las Vegas today, in about an hour or two - you can watch on Pay Per View. Erik Morales vs. Manny Pacquiao. Should be exciting. I'm here in Vegas right now, a part of Pacquiao's support entourage. :D

I predict Pacquiao as the winner. In case you where wondering, Pacquiao is one of the playable characters in EA's Fight Night 2005 game.

Pacquiao is gonna take this one. But I do want a Pacquiao/Barrera rematch though. I still think Pacquiao can beat him and just didn't get over the hump when he fought him.

Yup ordered, Im watching the fight with Marquez and Pacqaou (where he knocked him down 3 times in the first round) Great fight. Pacqaou moves a lot which is good but who knows what the outcome will be in this fight tonight.

I wouldn't have guessed you as a fight fan.

Awesome though, fun being in Vegas for a fight.

I'm not. My brother is part of his locker crew, and thus I get free tickets in, free merchandise, etc. I've met Pacquiao several times in fact; have had dinner with him on numerous occasions in San Francisco, Vegas and the Philippines. He's knows me, I know him, it's all good. :D

Morales wins. Pacqiao was done from the 5th round.

Great fight, the headbutt by Morales cut paqioa good.

Yay, I wanted Morales to win -- if just because of Pacquiao lucking out and getting a draw against Marquez and having such poor boxing skills. Once Marquez figured out how to isolate Pac's straight right hand in their fight, Pacquiao would stumble forward and flail wildly missing by a mile. It was incredibly frustrating to watch that awkwardness.

Hopefully HBO airs this next Saturday.

I guess you haven't seen his other matches against Barrera and Ledwaba - poor boxing skills my ass. How ignorant.

Basically, Las Vegas is a shitty place to hold such a fight with all the betting going on, and the stupid nationalistic battle between the Mexican and Filipino fans. You screw Pacquiao once, but then it comes back to haunt you 10 months later. Next time he fights a Mexican, it needs to be somewhere in the middle of China. With all Norwegian judges and an Indian referree. Seriously.

are you implying that pacquiao won the fight and was screwed by the judges?

For the Marquez fight, yes. For this fight, not so much. It was reasonably close for all three judges. Pac was off his game today, but I'm of the opinion that Vegas or Nevada in general shouldn't host another one of his fights. I think someone lost 1 Million on Pacquiao, for example. Everyone had a slightly personal stake in the fight, and the arena's atmosphere is disturbing.

He lost unfortunately, and I'm privy to reasons why. It's confidential though, but basically, when you have a crooked support system, shit happens.

I personally hope he now takes it slow and fights a minor fight or two, before rematching a big guy. He has a chance to start over, his record is still good and no one left the arena or went to sleep today thinking Pacquiao was a shitty fighter - except Alex Anderson. ;)

nobody in their right mind should think he was a bad fighter after watching that fight

he's a great fighter, and he showed in some of the rounds that the fight could have gone his way had he done more in the other rounds

Ok, Pacman is NOT a bad fighter, but if you watch the way hes fought in the previous years you will find that tonight he was'nt moving left and right in hyper mode like usual. He was a bit slower but still moving. If you know how Pacman fights if you keep moving to the left of him throughout the whole fight, it will be difficult for him to hight you with his left (southpaw)
Also Pacman isnt any good once they start hitting him and he backs out, pacman can not fight at all when hes stepping back.
I say tonight Morales won fair. His hits connected more and better than Pacqiaos punchs. Oh yea about the gloves when Pacman said he would have Knocked Morales out was a bunch of crap. Morales would have used the same gloves had Pacqiao used gloves from the Middleweight and hit him even better.

Best fight I've seen in years. I can't wait for the rematch.

Morales won fair and square, he had the better gameplan.

Like someone said, the gloves wouldn't have made a difference because Morales was nailing Pac pretty good too and would have damaged Pac more if the gloves of both of them would have been lighter. The cut hurt Pac more than anything, he diffenately lost those middle rounds because of it, but hey, accidental headbuts are a part of the game.
