Looks like an improved AP2 engine, more style this time around it seems.

I enjoyed part 2, hopefully 3 continues the decent series.

Are the characters both girls in this game?

Because I've got no idea what the gender is of this character.

GotY~

Seriously, this is one of the most fun series ever. Hopefully this is just as good as the others.

...I'm a bad man...very very baaad man...

*gets arrested*

EDIT: You know what's teh hilarious!11!, look at my avatar (icon), match Sparda's eyes and follow their line of sight, notice the view? :lol

Looks fantastic, I love the art style. It's a far cry from noisy looking 3D games such as Jak (bleh). I really hope this makes it to the west (Europe would be nice, but US will do). I don't want to miss out on all the text.

Wrong answer.

The cleansing begins.
Maybe this poster has history (I don't play GAF-Politics), but why the ban?

My immediate thought was also "whoa, n64." Not as a slam, but the graphical style is such that there is little background texturing and the polygons that make up the characters are very...polygonal.

Actually reminded me of an N64 emu's GFX. Crisp.

I love the Spider-Man suit that one monkey is wearing. Did anyone else notice that they're on the side of a building? :) So is the entire game going to be based on various movie sets, or are these just screens from one level of the game?

Just a few more weeks until Ape Escape 3 is out in Japan. :D

Yeah, I also got an N64 vibe visually.

But to even think that it's an N64 game is just idiotic.

Given, it might rub off as an N64-esque looking game, but to actually think it's one is just dumb.

Yes, he was being sarcastic, but some threads are built for debate (I know this very well). Some threads are built for humor, inviting of caustic replies etc.

But this is a thread to just show some fuckin Ape Escape screens.

And beyond my sick sexual habits >.>

most understand that.

Didn't people tear up Virtua Quest for its graphics and art style? Cause this games art/graphical style looks verry similar.

That said, I like the look.

It does look a lot better than Ape Escape 2 IMO, but you'd think with such simplistic graphics they could easily make the textures as sharp as possible. Half of the textures are squares for fucks sake.

How much longer do those of us in North America have to wait before Sony or Ubisoft or someone else announces a release in this part of the world?

Ugh, I just pray to god we don't get the bullshit we got with the American release of AE2. That was horrible.

Although I think Sony might just do it themselves this fall. They seemed to care enough to do AE on PSP.

AE came out on the PSP because the system needed games.

On the other hand, if they passed on AE2 I can see them passing on AE3.

Back in 2003, G4TV.com had a guest on who worked in SCEA concept approval. She explained, in a super arrogant way, how they pick what games SCEA approves or publishes in the US and it basically comes down to whether or not she feels that the game will make the PlayStation look competitive against the other consoles.

Yes, it looks a bit naff, but will the gameplay whoop all kinds of ass? MOST LIKELY!

I liked Ape Escape 2 more than Mario Sunshine!

ok sometimes people jokingly say "Ps1-game?"..

although the screen-resolution is higher and texturefiltering is present..

besides that, this REALLY looks like a ps1-game

This might give Sony a little boost in bringing it here.

I hope they take this concept all the way and do some kind of parody to the Snake Eater theme.

Dude that'd be fuckin hilarious.

Some company should just start making paradies of all the big games....that'd sell a lot.

"Gran Boringismo"

"Dead of Depth"

"Unvirtual Fighter"

"Metrosexuals May Cry"

"God of Casuals"

"Metal Gear Infinium: The 9999th Snake"

..man, this shits hard. I suck. Somebody make some funny parody like titles...GOOO!

Damn, C-Warrior, you really can't help but make a reference to God of War in every post.

You seriously do need Dr. Phil-esque help.

This seemed to be getting a pretty big push. Lots of ads, commercials, and promo stuff available. Looks like a blast, though...

I wasn't a big fan of the second Ape Escape but this one looks really nice. Then again, I'm sure they'll find some way to screw it up.

On the subject of Ape Escape, can anyone provide a reasonable explanation for porting it to PSP--a system without two analog sticks? I mean, that's like a Sega-esque decision. It's almost like they saw that Nintendo was doing a remake of Mario 64 and they didn't want to feel left out. All the minigames in the world aren't going to make up for castrated controls.

Probably wanted a child-friendly game available at launch and didn't want to put too much money into it.

Jumping Flash would have been more playable, but it's long forgotten.

It controls fine, though. The game loses a bit without the sticks, but it's still fun. What hurts that particular port is the amount of loading you must deal with...
