Starting next Tuesday, we’ll be kicking off a new event called The Legendary Hunt. This limited-time event will last two weeks, and with it brings all this to Kings Canyon:

  • Apex Elite Queue
    • Test yourself against the best with the Apex Elite queue. Make it to the Top 5 in any match to earn your way into a select queue full of other Top 5 winners.
    • Here’s the catch: in order to continue playing in the queue you will have to keep placing in the Top 5.
  • Legendary Hunt Challenge Rewards
    • Complete a set of limited-time challenges and earn new Rare, Epic, and Legendary skins.
  • Double XP Weekend
    • From Friday, June 7 at 10 a.m. PST through Monday, June 10 at 10 a.m. PST, earn double XP on base progression and Battle Pass progression.
  • Battle Pass Bonus XP
    • Finish Top 5 in any match and earn an entire Battle Pass level (once per day).
  • Legendary Hunt Store Skins
    • Every three to four days during the event, we’ll have new Legendary Hunt themed skins rotating through the in-game store for direct purchase.
  • Two Additional Legendary Skins for all Battle Pass Owners
    • Players who have the Wild Frontier Battle Pass will automatically get the Legendary Honored Prey R-301 skin.
    • Players who reach Battle Pass level 15 before the end of the event will get the Wraith Night Terror Legendary skin.

First Details on Season 2 Battle Pass

At 10:00 a.m. PST on Saturday, June 8, we’ll be sharing some of the first details on Apex Legends Season 2 as part of our EA PLAY livestream. Today, we want to tell you about just a few of the high-level improvements you can expect from our second Battle Pass. So, without further ado, we'll let our Lead Product Manager, Lee Horn, tell you more. Take it away, Lee!

Leeeeeee-RSPN here, with an update on Battle Pass Season 2. We’ve been listening to the community discussion regarding the Season 1 Battle Pass and have gotten a ton of great feedback from players. Today, we’re excited to share just some of the changes and improvements you can expect with the Season 2 Battle Pass, so y’all can know that we’re headed in the right direction.



TL;DR on Just Some of the Coming Improvements

  • Level up via Daily and Weekly Challenges.
  • Time to Battle Pass level 100 should be significantly reduced.
  • Three additional Legendary skins added to the rewards track.
  • Three entirely new content categories replace badge and stat tracker rewards.
  • You’ll earn enough Crafting Metal rewards from the full reward track to craft a Legendary item, or whatever your heart desires.


Daily/Weekly Challenges and Improving the Grind

Starting in Season 2, you’ll be able to complete a mix of Daily and Weekly Challenges to level up your Battle Pass. If you miss a few weeks or start late, your Weekly Challenges will still be around for you when you return, and you can complete them all at once.

While we don’t want to introduce wacky challenges that drastically warp the way you play the game, these challenges should provide some interesting variation from game-to-game. This means all players should feel more rapid Battle Pass progression and the journey will hopefully be more fun and interesting. Also, this addition should allow players who can only dedicate a few hours a week to the game to make a very deep cut into their Battle Pass progression.



Moar Legendaries!

We’re adding three Legendary items to the Battle Pass and there will now be a Legendary item every 25 Battle Pass levels in the premium track, including at purchase (that’s level 1, level 25, level 50, level 75, and level 100). Our goal is to have a nice balance of cool character exclusives and cosmetics for everyone (like weapon skins). The level 100 reward will be an evolving weapon skin with a special recolor version for those players who make it to level 110.



New Cosmetic Types and No Badge or Stat Tracker Rewards on Premium Path

We removed badges and basic stat trackers completely from the premium Battle Pass rewards track for Season 2. You’ll still get a seasonal badge, but it’ll be a single, evolving badge that won’t take up any additional reward slots! We’ve kept seasonal win trackers in the free path, and they will all be earnable in the first 10 levels.

You’ll also be able to earn items from three new content categories in place of badges/trackers. We’ll be revealing details about these categories closer to the launch of Season 2.



Earn Enough Crafting Metals for a Legendary Item

We’re replacing the Voice Lines with Crafting Metal rewards. You’ll now be able to earn enough Crafting Metals (1,200) to craft the Legendary item of your choosing. So, if there’s an existing item you’ve been coveting, you’ll be able to get it in Season 2. You can still get additional Crafting Metals from the various Apex Pack rewards in the Battle Pass as well.

We have a lot more to tell you about what you can expect in Season 2, so make sure you tune into our livestream on Saturday, June 8 to hear what else we have in store.

That sounds great, especially the challenges and the amount of crafting material you're earning. Also nice that we finally get a good looking skin for Wraith.

The new approach sound great and much needed in Apex. Since they decided to take the seasonal update route, this makes a lot of sense to keep the players active.
 
All good on me if it's delayed a little I can't play it until Thursday night/Friday night. At least it's coming unlike a certain BioWare game.

mostly great changes, what stands out above all is

*Caustic barrels can now be triggered to disabled by friendly teammates.

but THIS shit

*Removed an exploit that allowed to "bunny hop" while healing.

*Added cooldown [.5 seconds] before you can reuse the last zipline you were on.

honestly fuck off with these kind of changes respawn, i'm gonna assume bhop healing is still in but whatever exploit that allowed people to hop for free was removed, about to jump / report
the zipline cooldown sounds like a goddamn nightmare, if this means we cannot move from zip to zip, or flip around on a single line, i'm gonna start side eyeing a lot of changes from this team

so yeah, experimenting a bit in training

bhop healing has been removed, terrible decision made by some nonathletic scrubs at respawn

bhop healing was fun, why are you punishing your hardcore players

the zip change is actually kinda interesting, first glance it's not noticeably worse as you can re-zip faster, but there's a camera lock now when you hop on or off, which is just a terrible idea

fix this dopey shit

rest of the patch is ACES, good job

and uh yeah, i'm still butt hurt over bhop healing nerf, why you doing this to me

on the flip side, the cheaters who auto hop will be easier to punish so at least there's that

if that's why they did it though, i'm gonna have to ring the shame bell

better players in general will be easier to target since healing now decelerates you to a slug's crawl

Mirage is my main and this is very good. FINALLY!

Just when I mastered the B-hop on console it got nerfed ffs...

Our intent is to prevent exploits like removing muzzle flash, disabling lighting, and other changes that give players an unfair competitive advantage.

Good. I saw some high kill gameplay where they turned it off through a command. Shouldn't be counted as with fast shooting guns with high muzzle flash it makes a world of a difference. But I play on console so what do I care. I guess I cared for those who got it without tinkering some under the hood setting.

new music is very cool

the advanced queue is dope, great idea and a clever way to isolate / entice cheaters

i like the new wraith skin, i hate the blood skin

the 301 skin is aight, triple skin is aight, scout skin is pretty good for a rare

kinda hoped for more animated badges, stuff for advanced players like 5 wins in a row or whatever

the netcode seems better in some areas, worse in others

specifically ~

when it lags now, the server sorta freeze in place, or rolls back, gone is the swimming crawl
killing people seems delayed by a microsecond or so, doesn't always happen and it's not a big a deal but it is annoying
doors are a little laggier at times

not sure how i feel about thermite damaging doors yet, will see how the meta evolves there as it's a pretty big change

wouldn't count on too many changes to the bique or p20, the turds at respawn like the power curve on these things

pretty good patch, i hope the weekly updates keep coming, assuming they are as there's now a timer for this stuff

something needs to be done with melee, find a way to soup without making it op
def not optioning for a one-hit quit knife or anything, but you gotta throw us a bone

a few others things ~

flying is a lot better, the speedometer is more accurate / less sticky

crates are sorta messed up in this patch, you got shields and shit popping up in the wrong category and strange item fading
armor cropping up faster is much appreciated, hardcore players thank you, couldn't have been easy to implement and i'm sure the bugs will get cleaned up

wish i could discuss future content, there's some nutty shit coming in season 2

btw i'm working on a new OT, going to outline every weapon and item, legend, parts of the map, abilities, basics, advanced play, physical systems and mechanics
i'm hoping to make it the most elaborate break down of apex / titanfall mechanics on the internet

it's an early WIP, should be finished middle of june

there's a lot of reasons i consider this the best fps ever, and there's so much to cover that i'll probably be working on it for a few months after i launch the initial thread

Did all my challenges in 6 matches. The fact that everyone tries to make it to top 5 changes the character of the matches entirely - I’m a fan.
 
Man, I just can't seem to get even performance in this game. One evening, I'll be right in there, downing enemies and reviving team mates like it's nothing. Hell, we even win! The next session, it's just complete ass match to match, can't hit shit and just feeling like a bloated dead weight to the team. Haven't experienced this level of dramatic performance rollercoaster in any other game (especially not a Respawn game), and I can't seem to get to what the hell is going wrong lol.

Time of day makes a gigantic difference for me. I do way better in the morning - and that´s not due to me shooting better, but due to the enemies being crap. Just won 3 in a row in the Elite Playlist.

Had a really weird drop, there were no shields or weapons in the (unlooted) area that we dropped into. Only grenades, health packs and shield cells. Felt like we were about to meet a boss. Then the whole game just glitched out and we got booted to menu.

I'm convinced the servers or the hit detection are completely fucked. I ended up in a room last night with an enemy who had a sniper rifle. I was emptying rounds into him with my Havoc from 2 ft away and he still had time to swap out from his sniper and kill me. I rage quit so hard I deleted the game

don't forget there's recoil, sway, travel time, and drop

still needs some tuning, i've had many hits not register, including longbow shots and a couple kraber headshots

and the tickrate needs to be 60 already, 30 just isn't good enough, sorta forces me to dial down my reaction time to halo 2 / 3 era levels

They nerfed movement pretty badly this patch. Although I doubt it's intentional. Shooting while moving is wildly inaccurate now, so getting those sick 3v1s is getting to be harder. I swear the game gets less and less fun the more they patch it. I truly hope the movement changes are a bug like the energy weapon "nerfs"

Wow, the French voices are really bad. The characters even lost their accents ! Please, please give us an option to switch back to English voices (without having to change the settings of the console… ). It's a common complaint I've had about Xbox in general, having the ingame language locked by your system settings, but it's especially painful in Apex. Completely killed my mood, I stopped playing after three rounds.

They nerfed some guns again but didn't even put it in the patch notes.

I started liking the Havoc but they nerfed it from 32 to 24 rounds per mag. The Devotion also got nerfed from 44 to 36 rounds per mag. The Havoc is back to being useless for me which sucks cause I liked the legendary skins from the battlepass.

Some huge performance issues on PS4 Pro have popped up. Maybe they bumped up the resolution a bit, the game did seem a bit sharper but performance was severely impacted and 60fps is no longer stable at all, just quickly looking left and right will make the framerate drop dramatically. It can happen in combat too which has cost me fights.

The new music is mostly worse, the drop seems way less epic now. I have a US PSN account but friends that have French ones tell me the French voices are horrendous and want an option to put the US voices back.

All in all this patch was one step forward, two steps back for me. If the framerate isn't quickly fixed I won't play anymore. I need a mostly stable 60fps, especially in combat, otherwise it's not worth it. If it is actually due to some sort of resolution bump then they need to give us the option to lower it back to 1080p so the framerate can be stable again.

Mirage is still underpowered, his clones should have 2 to 3 charges like Bangalore's smoke or Caustic's canisters. Either that or make his one clone take 100 damage that looks like real damage before disappearing like a clone. Your one clue that it was likely a clone would be that it doesn't have armor and so the damage would look like armorless damage.

ya i noticed the nerfs, strange they went in completely unchecked

instability is unfortunate, there's some issues on pc too (i'm on a 2080 ti), they forced some changes to the renderer to prevent cheating that went too far

Music is highly subjective of course.

I like the new music way better.

I wouldn’t rule out that the energy weapon nerfs were unintentional.

Seems weird not to mention them at all in the patch notes.

How the heck did this get past testing. Played a few rounds and the framerate is abysmal on my PRO. Stepping away till there is notice it’s fixed. Bafflingly.

I saw on reddit that they said those mag changes where not intentional and they would be fixing them.
 
they just confirmed theyre gonna fix em, but god knows how long that's going to take. They haven't even mentioned anything specifically about pathfinder being totally broken and the season is almost ever. I swear i don't think these devs play their own game.

Apparently when Season 2 launches, you'll have the option to switch back to the US voices.

Man, performance has been a mess as of late. Sure there's been lag before, but it just feels less responsive and more "framey" since the patch. Playing on X1X.

Also, did they nerf the Spitfire or is it just netcode that is screwing things up again?

the nerfs should not come as a surprise they pulled the same shit in titanfall 2, they nerfed everything. not sure why they don't want effective guns that can actually kill.
