Apple's closed ecosystem has been broken by Vivo

I hate to be negative here, but all I have is doubts. You have to have an iPhone with you for some of it, and the rest will likely not be as smooth and seamless as they want you to think.

If you want to be in the Apple ecosystem, having everything travel through a secondary device seems to be a very odd way to go about it. Either go Apple or don't, IMO.

You don't need a secondary device. If you have this upcoming foldable and an iPhone you can receive your calls and messages on both phones but iits not necessary to have an iPhone. I have no interest in switching to Apple. This is for people who are already in the ecosystem and would like to switch but don't want to go through the hassle of losing icloud or not being able to use their Apple watch.
Airpod and Mac remote support are in the pipeline too .

I guess it doesn't matter Apple will most likely find a way to block this with an update but pretty cool nonetheless.

What debacle? WWDC 2025 was great, especially for iPad users. Are you talking about the move to the "Liquid Glass" styling? If you are ingrained in the apple ecosystem you are there because of how perfectly everything works together, a design change isn't going to move you off of it, and you most certainly aren't going to buy a Chinese Android device to leave. And if you were that person that just HATES the new look so much you want to leave... your macbook and watch are getting the same look too, so switching phones isn't going to get you away from it.

Plus Apple will kill whatever loop hole they are using.

You're right I must be ignoring you for an entirely different reason. I'll just unignore you till I figure it out
Maybe you need to post here.

I don't know who would do this?

Like you need n iPhone for most of this… and good luck if you use iMessage at all as those won't be forwarded.

It's also being very coy with wording; "don't need to keep an iPhone to use a few features from this Android device." So… it can't setup the Apple Watch or probably update it. Also again they are mentioning only SMS?

This is all hardly what I think of when I think of Apple's closed ecosystem being broken "completely."

Not sure why you've put "completely" in quotations. I guess we'll have to wait till the press conference to see how well this works or doesn't work. But in other news this foldable will be thinner and lighter than a slab phone even when folded
