I think last april first was when the sqaure/enix merger was anounced so nobody believed it :lol

If I remember correctly, the forum was shutdown or something to that effect, with a reason explaining why. I really don't remember it very well..

Nintendo is releasing a new handheld with dual screens, one of them being a touchscreen. lol what a joke.
 
The merger wasn't announced april 1st. That's when it was set to take effect (it was actually announced like in December, but there were people who didn't believe it because the merger was official on April 1st. April 1st is the beginning of the business fiscal year for Square, enix, and most other companies, which is why the merger was completed on April 1st).

The annoying thing is, there are some actual legit news stories that are released on April 1st. I think Silicon Knights redoing Metal Gear Solid for the GC was one of them, last year.
 
I bloody hate April Fools. Which isn't helped by the fact the most companies' FY ends on March 31st - meaning some genuine PR and News is going to hit on April 1st. Once again - I BLOODY HATE APRIL FOOLS. It's childish, boring, and unsurprisingly dull day.
 
There will be an official April Fools topic for you jokesters to post all your garbage in. Anything outside of that will be bannable. Just like last year.

HOw about someone posting official press releases and announcements in the april fools forum to mess with everyone's head?
 
The biggest issue I see with this April Fools is that the date is very near a lot of announcements that are going to be made about the next-gen consoles. Besides seeing articles on that date, it will be interesting seeing the stuff that floats around.
 
Worst/cruel april fools day joke ever:

LucasArts announces remake of Dark Forces and Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight. I would've looked forward to that.
 
I've begun to enjoy April Fools, but only because there's always some real news that comes out and people don't believe, only later to find that it was true. It's even better when they don't want what the news is to happen.

Like when The GIA shutdown. That was funny.

EDIT: Oh and the wit...the wit of those sites that'll use double negatives. "Bungie Nintendo exclusive...this ain't no joke!" AHAHAHAHA
 
Sometimes things actually turn out to be true. Last year for example, Nintendo actually unveiled Paper Mario 2 on April Fools, which turned out to be no joke.

Wouldn't it be great if a bunch of companies actually did have something really neat in the pipes, and decided to announce it April 1 just to mess with everyone? :)
 
Why do I remember there being some big deal last year during April Fools... there was some story that actually turned out to be true. Someone must remember.
 
why do people post Fools News in March. Its totally irrelavant if it is not done on the 1st April. And in the UK i believe before 12noon too!
 
Nintendo could announce there REVOLUTIONARY feature.

If no one likes it, just claim it was a fools day joke and go back to the drawing board!!
 
I hate April Fools Day. Cause there is always some really good news that turns out to be true, but nobody believes it. So you end up looking like a fool no matter what. :lol

At midnight tonight Japan time I will be posting Irem's April Fool's Day joke, a clearly marked yearly tradition which is always really funny and not stupid or trying to trick people at all.

I got banned last year because I posted a link to Irem's joke 8 hours before the "catch-all" thread went up and the banning policy went into effect.

I'm fully expecting to be banned again this year no matter how clearly and fairly I mark my thread, but if you would be willing to get the catch-all up in a timely manner for your international readers this time (five hours from now), I'd be happy to use it and not be banned just because I live 14 hours into the future.

I bet someone will go with this joke: Zelda delayed to Revolution launch. Probably a Matt-IGN joke cuz he wont come up with better.
