their live show is amazing! i was so-so on their album, some good songs, but I heard so many great things about their live show. Even with high expectations, it was awesome. well worth seeing them anytime.Jim Bowie said:Jesus, I can't get over it. The two guys going absolutely insane on the random percussion pieces... but it sounded so melodic. And how the second violinist fell to his knees around the end of the song.. I'm so amazed by this band that I that was sub-par.

Dice said:Aw, I missed it! They are my favorite band and (obvously) their album is my favorite ever, not only do I love every song, I love every moment of every song. I've been wanting to see them live for so long.
howdy!
the band is all upset about conan, they thought the sound was shit
i thought it was awesooooooome
i didn't get paid or anything, in fact they said i couldn't legally be on the set
(no work visa)

conan is super tall and has an enormous head

the audio from my clip was directly from tivo > mp3 LAMEfart said:man, if element's rip is any indication of the audio, the engineers totally destroyed it. overmic'd the vocals, undermic'd everything else. those guys were going crazy on percussion and all they got was a little whump every once in a while. i wonder if they even bothered listening to the record before the show? you can't mix stuff with energy like you do shitty autotuned teen princesses.
Drozmight said:Yeah, I still like the band, but... I'm just sayin'. Whats with the motorcycle helmets?
watching them play wake up is like a drug (PURE SORROW HOT HOT)element said:the audio from my clip was directly from tivo > mp3 LAME
It was pretty poorly mixed, but I think it has more to do with that the show really didn't know what was going on. They weren't setup to follow the percussion guys at all with the camera.
Still makes me want to see them again.
GG-Duo said:i think they're overrated, but that's a fuckin' awesome performance.
Holy shit, one of the percussion guys threw a drumstick at the guitarist's face! :lol

They've played four times here in the last few months, and I still haven't seen them. Damn shows sell out too quickly.
Apparently, David Byrne joined them onstage for an encore in New York. I know. That's what I said, too.

and most people agree that the album is alright. A good effort. Has a couple good songs. But it is TOTALLY different when talking about their live show. They are awesome live.LinesInTheSand said:I don't get all the love for this band. Finally got around to checking out their album after all the GAF praise and it's a very big meh overall.
