This quote set me off. And it wasn't necessarily what you wrote but how I took the quote because of what certain people have been like lately. (I've been looked down on for being trendy by certain people because some of what I like happens to be trendy even though I say very little about my tastes, don't judge other people's tastes. - except for video games - and what I like is generally disliked by the people I hang out with)
I hate the trend/anti-trend phenomenon with a passion because I take shit for being myself. No matter what I think I'm seemingly placed in those two categories.

Post-hip is a movement that I'm working out the details on. The intent is not to make myself cool (although it is tailored around my personal philosophy) but to kill the hipster movement while futhering other ideas. I just need to get the people I live with to buy into it and I'll be happy.
