Are “timed exclusives” over?

When was the last time there was timed exclusive for a game on a console, I remember map packs being released on 360 before ps3 so are those days over, do companies not care anymore about who gets what first?

Wasn't Stalker 2 just released on PS5? Black Myth Wukong released on Xbox in August.

Exactly. We've also had plenty of timed exclusives since the PS3/360 era, and in the current gen. Silent Hill 2 Remake was PS5/PC for the first year, then came to Xbox. Death Stranding on PS4, and then PC and Xbox later. Likely going to happen with Death Stranding 2 as well. Hades 2 on PC and Switch 1/2 now, but coming to PS5 and Xbox later. The list goes on...

There will be more timed exclusives, just not from platforms paying for them.
Xbox being irrelevant and Switch 2 being weak will lead to PC/PS5 timed exclusivity without paying for it.

I don't think they'll disappear completely. After all, from a marketing perspective, companies need to somehow move their product forward, and that's a kind of fuel for momentum. But their numbers will definitely decline. And it won't even be because people don't want to make them, but because the development cycle has increased exponentially (if we're talking about large projects, and most exclusives are usually AAA titles), and the number of games released by a single studio has also sharply decreased compared to what it was back then. (I'll remind you that there was once a time when they managed to release three Mass Effect games in a single console life cycle, now they can't even produce one.)

Nintendo still loves exclusives. And Sony loves staggered releases and giving PS5 a headstart over PC. Even Xbox still have exclusives like Keeper and older titles not ported to PS5 yet or delisted. And GTA6 is only on console next year.

So time exclusives will always be here in some capacity

No… and there are so many, warhammer darktide, space marine 1(may be fully exclusive to Xbox, but I don't think it is), final fantasy 16, , final fantasy 7, valheim, indiana Jones, stalker 2, not to mention PC timed exclusives, which are the worst kind, usually, they use PC as lab rats for unfinished products(no rest for the wicked, enshroud, the forest 2) or they just make bad business decisions, Like honkai star rail, wuthering waves, solo leveling arise, etc.

I think we will only see it for first party Sony titles for timed exclusives. For third party it's PS5/PC going forward. I don't even think you will see Sony money hat third partyanymore because then won't need to.

since Xbox stopped selling consoles I can see this mostly going away

I guess PS exclusives are timed before going to PC - and that will probably keep happening

Regarding game contents or DLC, I believe Modern Warfare II (2022) offered an entire cooperative mode exclusively on PlayStation for an entire year.

A full game? Well, just in the past two years we saw the timed exclusive release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on PS5 (3-month window), Silent Hill 2 on PS5 and PC (12-month window), and Zenless Zone Zero across PS5, PC and mobile (3 month window).

You think DB will come out on other platforms? Isn't it to Nintendo what BB was to Sony? Holy shit I want it to come out on PC, emulator is far far away.
From Software is the owner of the Duskbloods IP.

They can publish it everywhere, but I guess there are contracts in place and the game will arrive on PC and PS5/Xbox Series at a later date.
