Are these LTD numbers for Ico correct?

the numbers all end with 000, I don't think its accurate to say the least. Also, Sony probably doesn't want to publish wanda probably because ICO only sold when it was $5 instore.... :)

So it sold the most copies in the USA, but SCEA won't publish it here? wtf?
No, that quote was taken out of context. There's absolutely no evidence that SCEA doesn't want to publish it here.

At least half of ICO's sales were at sub-$30 bargain bin prices.

The oldest sales spread data I have is October 2002, and at that point the game was only at 114K, with an average price of $26.

AMAZINGLY ENOUGH, you're WRONG AGAIN. Congratulations.

If half were $50 and half were $25, that would give us $37, which is pretty damn close to how it's worked out.. The average price in Oct 2002 was probably 26, but here are some LTD numbers from August 2004.

Aug 2004 LTD
LTD Dollar Sales $6,618,658
LTD Unit Sales 174,408
Average Selling Price LTD $37.95

The unit LTD sales as of January 2005 are: 183,613

so USA (09/26/01) - 250,000 units numbers posted above.. which I said is not accurate... is wrong? :) I don't get it... ^_^

as for the $5 comments. I was being facetious; I was still right about the game selling when it went budget so to speak though. According to your numbers though... 183.613 LTD?... ICO sold like crap. That's after it went budget too.

* and sonycowboy.. I've got more stuff on my plate then to track numbers and feel superior correcting others on "my precious data" while going ke ke ke. A bit sad don't you think? :) I do appreciate your NPD/LTD posts so keep up the good work. Makes for great entertainment. I just don't feel a need to archive all this data on my HDD or do searches.

No, what is WRONG is that people keep repeating that SCEA does not want to publish Wanda in the US, which is bullshit. It's complete rubbish and people should stop spreading it.

1) Being facetious, trolling whatever. :D We all know that ICO sold poorly. That's been lamented many, many times over.

2) It sold 54% of it's copies at full price ($50), most of it's copies above the $40 price point (65%) and it's ASP LTD is still $37.95. It's never officially gone "budget", "greatest hits" or whatever. What Sony originally shipped was all she wrote. Attributing "most" of it's sales to Sony dropping it's price is incorrect.

3) Don't forget USA # NA. Given that it's still relatively easily found, I'd say 250k is probably the right number shipped to this region.

4) I don't care what you've got on your plate and I'm not being superior other than to point out that both of your comments were wrong. If you don't like being corrected, just don't be wrong on factual issues. I happen to have some sales numbers, so it's no problem for me to "set the record" straight regarding sales questions, which is what this thread was about.

Those JP shipped figures seem awfully high. SOD only has 1st week sales but they were only 15,940... there must be plenty of copies sitting on shelves I guess. :/

Did Ico even retail for $50? All other Sony-published games in the US retail for $40 initially.

A simple comment:

I'm certainly no holier-than-thou kind of person, but I find your username incredibly offensive. How could mods approve such a handle? And what's the point of it? To be blantantly anti-Christian or perhaps I'm missing something?

I agree, I guarantee if someone tried to register a username with [insert minority here]killer, homokiller, allahkiller or muslimkiller, they would not be approved.
