Seeing as ww3 has turned into a huge meme on the internet since the recent high tensions between USA and Iran over the killing of an Iranian General, Iran's leaders have vowed revenge,

Personally I don't think killing an Iranian general will not spark a WW3 but something ugly could develop between the two countries, either way Iran's Military is no match for the mighty US of A.

Well im living right next door to Russia so i often think and worry, not so much about a world war but about being reoccupied or a Ukraine type war here.
 
Not at all worried myself tho I wouldn't put it past the media and establishment Dems to cheerlead a war in order to make Trump look bad. That is my real nightmare scenario, we end up with Biden trying to out Warhawk him in debates.

The consequences of war have no impact on my generation and younger. It was boomers and gen x that were forced into voluntary service via the draft, we can only see war from a place of privilege compared to them. My mom knew the kids shot at Kent State, at a peaceful anti war protest, killed by the National guard. My dad knew some kids who were potheads who got snitched on by a jealous acquaintance and they were arrested and sent to Vietnam where they died in combat. For us, this generation, in the US, it is a thing experienced mostly thru heroic movies about war and conquest, sides represented by space Nazis and super hero's. Consumer wars are the only thing we care about.

My personal politics is anti war in general. I think we are better off spending our money on the people who actually live in this country.

I am afraid of sjw's, people getting really dumb, cancel culture and that little climate monster... And EU ruining my country. Now I am required to have 5 recycle bins in front of my house. The new one is for "bio" trash... how the f am I supposed to keep "bio" trash in my flat long enough to gather a full bin of it to throw it out? And You can't throw bones in it and many other exceptions... so If I throw some leftovers in it and don't take it out until next day, the whole flat will stink. The bio trash bin is the stupidest idea ever... And it's just a cash grab anyway for apartment building. If the "recycling" company will find any bio trash in plastic, paper, glass or mixed trash bins, they will raise the trash payment by 25% for that month. No matter if I will do it correctly... one of my neighbors will mix the trash and here goes EVERYONE money. That and elimination of plastic straws. European union is doing whatever it can to make out lives harder and more annoying but all of those eco savings and collectives are just 0.0000001% in the world trash fuckup. Take care of companies first.

I got carried away... yes, I am sometimes afraid of WW3 and I think it would be much much more devastating if it happened today. Back in 1939 many people had their own farms/food and water income and did not 100% relied on electricity or city infrastructure.
Now, all You need to do is take away electricity and the whole city dies within a month or two:
-No internet, information blackout
-No supermarket food = no food at all
-No water also
-No fuel, roads blocked
-Death of starvation or neighbor murdering me for my leftovers from the bio trash :P

WW3 is prolly not gonna happen.

But what i think its gonna happen next, is that some horrible terror attacks on US interests (embassy, US companies, etc) whichwill trigger an all out war with Iran, as Trump see this as a chance to rally his base in the election year. I think this actually what Trump wishes.
 
If WW3 ever happens, it will be the most destructive event in human history, and you will not have any control over outcomes beyond maybe your basic survival capabilities and how far away from urban population centers you reside.

Worry about the meteor tomorrow. For now, enjoy your life, love your family and friends, and play video games.
 
There wont be any world war 3 over iran.

There is a bigger chance that ubisoft makes the best game ever.

I quite enjoyed Wonder Woman and WW 1984 looks reasonably entertaining, so the prospect of a third film doesn't seem all that concerning if I'm honest. Hopefully they'll have brought in kangaroo riding and Gal Gadot doing thinly disguised BDSM by that point, too.
 
There's not going to be a world war 3.

The world's economy is so interconnected now that there's no appetite for a conflict anywhere near that scale anymore. Wars only happen these days to make rich people richer.
 
Dang, did I just step into Twitter? People sound thirsty for some catastrophic event to happen just so that they have more shit to complain about.

WW3 is not happening as a repercussion of yesterday's events. The people whose day-to-day will be impacted live in Iran, and they are more afraid about random another drone exploding close to them than of WW3.
 
This is a big fat nothing. A world war won't start until a major power does something devastating that sparks retaliation.

There will never be a WW3.

We may have small-scale wars. But there will never be a world wide conflict. We have the tech and the know how to avoid large scale battles.
 
No. All the noise on the internet is from kids who weren't alive when 9/11 happened and mouthpieces on TV that love to feign freaking out for viewership numbers.

This was a retaliatory strike for all the attacks that have happened in the past months up to and including an attack on a US embassy on NYE.
 
No. That would imply the entire world was at war. This is just going to be an eventual shooting at a concert, or a random civillian beheading followed by Sarin gas somewhere else in the middle east.
 
World war no.

Chemical or nuclear attack on a major US city, prompting a full scale invasion/bombing of the middle east? Always possible.
 
No. At this moment in time there is nothing of major value for any world nuclear power to gain from such a conflict, and EVERYTHING to lose. The math just doesn't add up anymore.

That could change one day when things like fresh water, oil, or precious metals needed for our quality of life start becoming super rare. Survival is a reason to risk everything with concern. That's the only time I could see WW3 happening.
 
I think it'll come eventually, but it wouldn't benefit anyone to have one with the way the world currently works.

We're already starting to see the fall of western influences leading to cultural conflicts, nationalistic sentiment stirring, competing rising world powers, economic uncertainty, failing resources as well as food and water scarcity starting to cause friction though.

All it's going to take is maybe a year of international trade stalling and we'll likely see things go tits up very quickly.

I havent worried about it the past 30 times its been brought up in the past few decades and I dont care now. Im especially not worried about it being iran. That entire area would get bombed back into the stone age and no one would care.

No. I grew up in the 80's at the tail end of nuclear war school drills and fairly desensitized. If it happens, it'll probably be a mistake and just like grandma falling asleep at the wheel and careening into oncoming traffic, there's not much we can do. Go read Alas Babylon.
