Are you adding plenty of new music to your streaming playlists on your paid streaming music subscription? Or would you be better off just buying individual MP3s and uploading them to something like YouTube Music? Or you don't care either way--you'll gladly pay for the convenience of a streaming music sub?

I'm basically only paying for the convenience of streaming over wi-fi at this point.

Any good streaming options for streaming your own ripped CDs? I used to use google music, but they changed to youtube and I didn't care to follow, so I need something new.

Love spotify but i feel like i dont have much of an option... theyre all going to be the same or worse.

and im not digitizing cds...

I tend to wait til spotify does their 9.99 for three months deal, otherwise I'd just kill the app when commercials started lol. So yeah, I'd say so.

Beats buying records, I can tell you that much.

So cool just to yell at my Google Homes to play Deftones or Radiohead whenever the mood strikes. Podcasts too. I also explore new music when I can. Works in the car too and while walking the dog. I've considered just getting an mp3 but it's not the same

I've always just maintained a personal library of MP3s on local storage. I'm in control. Never saw the appeal of streaming...I don't need my music to be in the cloud or whatever.

This is one area where I'll proudly die a boomer.

I’m still on my old YouTube red subscription so no YouTube with no ads is worth it alone

I listen during my drive to and from work. I listen at work probably 40 percent of the time. Then I listen while I’m home in the evenings racing.

Plus I have all the family spots full. So I would say so yes.

when i was working on the road as a truck driver it was absolutely worth it since i spent 10-12 hours a day listening to music or podcasts and i hated commercials. Now i don't see the value honestly.

I could do with MP3 because I don't listen to music often but I have a family plan and I think the rest of them compensate my lack of use.

I do Spotify for music but also got YT Red to remove the adds.

You can use Spotify for that, too, however it is a PITA to do that. Basically have to upload mp3s into Spotify app on your PC then they will show up on your mobile devices.

I must say that Spotify recommendations for me are way off the mark. I like maybe 1% of their recommendations.
I think their algorithms are useless for anyone who listens either a) non mainstream musc b) has very eclectic tastes (like me)

Yeah, I don't use them either. What I'll do is join subreddits of music genres I like then go off recommendations from there. If I dig a few of the songs I'll usually follow the artist on Spotify and make my way through their discography.

I pay for the convenience of not having to store that crap on hard drives and having my library sync across all platforms.
No way would I go back to physical media for music.

I pay for streaming for consumption / discovery / etc. I buy vinyl records on albums that I adore. I am looking to buy a CD player at some point to take advantage of the cheap market & to increase my library of Flac files.

I get free paid tier Hulu with my Spotify subscription, so I'd say emphatically "yes"...but alas this option isn't in the poll.

My thinking is that I don't give a shit how much or little I use it, because it's there when I feel like it. Some days I use it more and some days less. That's the value in it for me.

Never regretted spotify duo, 5 bucks for my wife and I is peanuts, before it became a thing I used to have to download music and move it to my phone.

On an average working day, Spotify Premium will be running for anywhere between 8 - 12 hours so I definitely feel like i'm getting my money's worth.
I have a bluetooth speaker on my desk that I listen to all day, plus I stream music in the car to and from work and usually i'm streaming while i'm cooking in the evenings. Some days I'll listen to the same old music, some days i'll use their "daily mix" which in fairness usually hits the spot depending on what i'm vibing and my partner and I have our playlists for the weekends when we're just chilling.
Discovering an artist and knowing that'll I instantly have access to their back catalogue to deep-dive into is worth every penny.

From what I've heard, US Spotify's free tier puts paywall on the latest songs and you can't hear them without subscription. That's not the case in India though, we can hear any song on the free tier and the ads aren't too pesky. On Alexa, spotify integration is bugged I think, it doesn't plays any ads at all!
