Probably correct. The advancements made over the past couple of years have been staggering. Look at how far it's come in generating art, and music? There are AI programs that are getting good at generating movies. How long before AI can create games? In 2031, AI should be able to not just create whatever music, film or art you desire with prompts, but it will KNOW what you like and create it without needing complex prompts. Just say you want to watch a new film and it'll create your ideal film.

Then there is the world of employment. I work in QA and I know full well AI will soon be able to do my job far better than myself or any human. AI won't need to be paid won't need to take breaks and It could work 24/7 365 and make zero mistakes.

Not so long after, we'll have quantum computers. Mixing AGI with quantum computers will be the equivalent be creating a God. That could go two ways and either be a new Golden age for humanity, or could result in us being doomed.

I'm not really sure I'm okay with this AI future. The more I learn about it, the more it feels like a dystopian nightmare.

I see it going the way of:
1) AI automates us proles out of jobs
2) Elites make trillions more off a workforce that they don't have to pay, except in electricity
3) Standard of living for proles plummets as we're no longer employable, but at least we can make endless entertainment for ourselves to stay distracted

Save us, Andrew Yang!

lmao at the people in this thread thinking AI = physical robots.

Anyway, AI doomers are cramping my style. We must accelerate, embrace our silicon destiny and create the thermodynamic god.

Scariest thing is that AI won't take the form of super advanced robots or a central Super Boss, conveniently waiting to be defeated on the final level.

All the various issues such as navigating a world built for biological life and most problematic, a power source that can last more than 30 minutes outside of a controlled lab, its the fact it will just be 'out there' and be an ephemeral force in the Worlds networks.

How do you shut something down like that without plunging the modern world into darkness....

If it doesn't destory us all, maybe we can finally get some fusion power going, or maybe some room temp super conductors.

Shit, if I'm really feeling hopeful, maybe we can even save the earth from becoming uninhabitable due to climate change.

I got kids, so I'm hoping it ushers in a golden age of humanity. Fingers crossed.

But who created the parameters for which it learns? Humans.
If it can actually learn new things without external inputs, it can form its own ideas after some studying, like humans.

And the final goal of IA is something that think and act like a human.

What makes you say that OP.

Take me on your journey and leaps of logic that eventually made you click create thread.

I'm curious and mean well

There is no ai in the world currently. Just stochastic parrots that rely on statistics to form a half coherent output. There is no god coming. Not anytime soon anyway.

smart ai -> doing smarter version of himself -> repeat
Thousand of years of technological progress in a decade, then in one year, then in three days

Is such thing possible? I dont know lmao.

Yeah I don't think they allow it within cetain contexts
