Hoping the best things on this one because I fucking love Blade and Arkane Lyon can do that IP justice.
Feel good this one is safe.

Maybe they're trying to launch it after a Marvel Cinematic Universe comeback (Like Wolverine?)
If new Marvel Movies are going to be hits they will drive Marvel Games more than now that MCU is at a minimal point of interest

That was Arkane Austin.

Blade is Arkane Lyon, the French team behind Dishonored 1 and 2.

Arkane Austin did Prey. They definitely weren't lacking in talent.

Refall I believe was just a bad situation, trying to do live service, something they didn't understand with poor management.

for the sake of AAA, i hope they didn't screw this time. come one, dark hero game is not that hard in concept IMO
Its Arkane. I have full faith.

I enjoyed their Deathloop, with some caveats. A few design decisions could've made it much better.

I thought about bringing this up but I figured it wasn't worth it.

A lot of posters here blame devs first and foremost when it comes to failed projects and on top of that people don't believe in second chances.

So they've spent 3 whole years after Deathloop to prepare a prototype that gets greenlit?

And man, Microsoft really needs to stop announcing games when none of the actual development work has been done yet.

Not really their fault if you're impatient. They did tell you it was a way out.
Not why I'm asking. I typically don't give a shit about a game until a few months out from release, and no one even knows what this game is, so nothing to be impatient about yet.

What I mean is - why announce this game before it's even in production? We saw what happened with 60% of the games Xbox announced years ago. Either unreleased yet, or cancelled.

It makes no sense - if you know development is going to be another 4-5 years, to say anything publicly about the game unless you're trying to raise money for the studio - which they wouldn't be at that point.

It will be bad if it only has a 3 year full production dev cycle.
They may be trying to replicate what they did with Deathloop - for better or worse. That was only around 3 years as well.

End of 2024? Yeah, I doubt it's coming in 2027 - unless it's a super low ambition game.

They might announce it for 2027 and then delay it to 2028-2029.

I imagine they are cheaper to run than US based studios, so hopefully they are safe and this game actually comes out.
Losing Arkane entirely would be a real kick in the nuts.

Oh, its Blade. I didn't think of the character blade when reading the title.

Hahaha you didnt think Marvels Blade was about Marvels character Blade?

Considering wolverine and how early it was announced, I wonder if Marvel forces devs to announce their games super early.

As a public company almost certainly bigger projects have to be announced pretty early.

They announce their own movies super early.
And somewhat annoyingly they also announce their comics really early.
They will at times spoil their own story by telling you the outcomes that lead into the next event.
I like reading solicits to get comic covers sometimes textless, but then the same article will also spoil what gonna happen in the current story.

No, really he's such a lowkey character i thought Marvels Blade was a name for something different.

A true shame that the most famous Daywalker has fallen out of favour.
Yeah, it's just that thing that Blade wasn't the most popular Marvel Character there is. The Blade movies are already a good amount of time in the past. And is he in the Avengers movies, i don't think he is right?

I fear when this flops its over for Dishonored.

I dont think Dishonored was on the table anyway.
Three games all great all bomb, a fourth isnt necessary.

Vampires in general arent as popular.
And Blade isnt known as a team player like with the Avengers, he would have a more arcane crew with him(no pun intended)

190 people for the studio is a pretty good size as well which I am happy to see. I'd like to see Lyon potentially become a possible two game studio if Blade does well to have them want to try other stuff.
