The latest installment in the Arma franchise returns you to authentic Cold War combat in a flexible military sandbox. Arma Reforger has been built from the ground up on the all-new Enfusion Engine, bringing additional functionality and more immersive in-game environments to the renowned military simulator.

Featuring crossplay for both Xbox and PC, Arma Reforger transports players to the mid-Atlantic islands of Everon and Arland to battle it out with a range of historically accurate weapons, vehicles, and helicopters!
 
THIS has crossplay? Color me impressed. I actually spent a decent amount of time playing this a few months back and I had a great time, but really it's about as good as the group of people you're playing with. The bones for the future of ARMA seem to be in a good place though I'll say and I look forward to watching it evolve up to ARMA 4 in the future.

BUT, it has as many bugs as you expect with ARMA so I'd say be prepared for that if you've never played the series before. Tons. Lots. I highly doubt it's been tightened up significantly since I played it last, but it didn't stop me from having a great time with it. I bet there's some awesome modes and player creations now.

Also, there's no way this doesn't run like dog shit on the consoles.

Ah, the game where you fight the interface more than the enemies.. Being one myself I can safely say Bohemia have never ever been in close proximity with a UX designer.

But of course, I've backed this game already a long time ago, and mostly because I know it'll contribute to the development of Arma 4.

With that said, I've played a few rounds in co-op in this game, had some fun between the frustrations.
 
I know its a huge map open military simulator game,but it would be so popular if it have smaller maps like in Battlefield and 32vs32..
 
I have Squad on my PC. Its fun but the maps are just too big,it feels like a walking simulator sometimes

It all stands or falls by having a good squad leader and commander, from my experience. But it's a good alternative for people who are overwhelmed by Arma's complexity. Another great game is Hell let loose. I wish there was a modern iteration. WW2 isn't my cup of tea, I can only play games with that setting when I'm really in the mood.
 
I don't wanna pull the trigger on this cause I know the second i do they'll announce arma4 which is the scope and scale that I really want

I believe it's on sale atm. Worth it. Especially with all the mods.
i've almost done so a few times, especially with their co-op campaign recently.

I think for me what makes arma though is the humongous maps, jets etc. I know they recently added helis but i still want the full fat deal. I can't wait for Arma4 for me it's like a new GTA , can't wait to see what they do with the size and scale.

I also think reforger is a clever testbed to sort out systems before the full release of arma 4.
 
You can tell, trying to get into servers with friends is difficult, as soon as any server looks to get players it fills very quickly and the lack of official 120 player servers don't help.
 
The ARMA games are actually pretty big on PC, with a big following.
I'd argue that the game should of done even better. In fact you will see that when the proper 'ARMA 4' releases.

I remember when I first played Flashpoint on friend's Duron 600 and Geforce 2 GT.
The photorealistic textures. The forests with actual hundreds if not thousands of trees. The villages that looked like legit czech villages.
Revolutionary game. Just wish its campaign was remade in Reforger, I would love to replay it with new engine and assets.

I agree, it was awesome and the AI was actually very good for its time. Would love to see a remake in Reforger.

Oh man! I remember how it was! My father, brother and I spent hundreds of hours in Flashpoint! The soundtrack is inscribed in my DNA.
 
Glad to see Arma finally blowing thanks to crossplay though really wishing for DLSS support on PC as even playing on a RTX 4080 it struggles at high settings.

Last thing I read is that Sony already gave the green light and is assisting them, so I wonder what the hold-up is.
 
So long time Arma reforger player back after a break. No matter what l assign radio selection (G) on mouse or keyboard it hardly ever recognizes the input!? It's so bizarre. Could press it 20 times and on 20th it comes up.
Yet when I switch to controller it works as normal. Very random and bizarre has anything ever like this happened to anyone or any solutions ? I have re set key bind , moved it to diff buttons on mouse / keyboard , changed mouse etc nothing works only using controller . Every other input works perfect .

Realistic World & Nature
Explore a world designed to immerse you in the stunning realism of snow-covered majestic mountains, wild forests, and endless frozen plains.

Northern Lights
Walk beneath the Aurora Borealis and gaze at the magnificent show that unfolds every night.

Dynamic Snow Mechanics
When it snows, it really snows! A custom WeatherState system dynamically adds snow particles and increasing snow coverage over time — blanketing mountains, ground, and roads with realistic accumulation.

Tunnel Passe & Bridge Destructions
There are four tunnel passes (through the mountains) and five bridges that connects the regions. Any part of the tunnels can be destroyed. However bridges have special marked parts (the bridges part with a red flag, can be destroyed). All roads are connected but destroying a strategic tunnel or bridge can help you buy time/supplies or slow down enemy progress but be careful, this can backfire later on, if the tides turn.

GM & Conflict mode orientated
This map was mainly designed for Conflict mode, the regions can be divided into two main areas, North against South side. Base placement, control points, supply depots, bridges and tunnels have all been carefully placed in accordance to map layout and balancing. However this is not limited to Conflict only, many POI's and cities are created for immersive mission building.

//BEHIND RED LINES (MISSION)
Try the small mission "BEHIND RED LINES", this mission features a military sabotage scenario, where you move into enemey lines to sabotage their supplylines.
Note that the mission itself is small and simple, but hopefully more advanced, longer and complex missions will be made in the future.

Thanks to the Arma community for helping out when in need. And a special thanks to Sarah, Mckie and Clampman for listening and giving feedback. The Novka project was made in less then two months (roughly 600-700 hours was spent), and future updates are being planned.

//MAP DEVELOPMENT
To acheive this projects main and internal goals, a pre-dummy map for testing was made, alot of specilized tools and methods was created to make rapid mountains, nature and the frozenplanes inside the Enfusion Engine. This is my first mod on Arma Reforger, but not my last. Future plans are being made for releasing the tools used here and other more useful mapping tools for the terrain modding community. The Novka project was created on 16-05-25 in regards to the MANW 2025 contest.
